Whose got them? How are they? Are they ceramic? Do they produce much dust? Thanks.

There are 2 stoptech pads

The Stoptech Sport - those are the ones that can be difficult. Great bite - dusty - but judder issues when not used hard

The Stoptech Touring - These are essentially re-boxed Posi-Quiets. Basic low dust street pad.

How do you intend to use the car street and track or just street?

Go with Autozone Gold ceramic pads. Very little dust, and only costs about $100. Many of us have them on our cars.

I have Posi-Quiet one piece pads front & rear on our Grand Sport. Street & highway driving only, low dust, great "bite". They will squeal (occasionally) a little as I back out of the garage. One touch of the pedal and the squeal goes away.

For a dedicated street pad I would highly recommend the 1521. Low dust 100% made in the USA performs like OE. Not the cheapest option but well worth it.

Carbotech™ Bobcat 1521™ The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non-corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

I used them on my old GS, and in.my C4. The combination of stopping power, performance, price, and dust is great imo.

they don't dust as much as the oem Ferodo 2500s on the wide bodies do, but they perform nearly as well when pushed. They dust a bit, but not terribly. They can be a little noisy if they're super cold. They also come in a one piece design vs padlets, which is nice. I would definitely buy them again.

I would not put ceramics of any sort on my car, even if you paid me to. They're ok for your grandma's Corolla, but have NO PLACE on a sports car. They just don' have the performance required, if you bought a Corvette and not a status symbol.

As has been mentioned many times on this forum, if you're only using your Corvette for street use, ceramic pads perform just fine.

Guys,

Newbie here with a just purchased 2013 Z06 with 34K miles that needs brakes (Dealer pre-purchase and sequel confims this). The car will be used on the street and (maybe) a future intro track date. I am ok with Autozone Gold ceramic pads, but the question concerns the Pin Set. Do I really need to replace the Pin Set, or could I wait until the next pad change? Also, if I need to replace the Pin Set, what is the best source? Thx.

If you drove your Vette like a prius, sure they do. If you take it on any challenging or twisty roads, I wouldn' recommend them. I would also say, if ceramics work fine for your vette, you bought the wrong car.
