Lots of threads address this. Much reading. You decide.

Mobil 1. Get it on sale at WalMart. 10 1/2 quarts once a year.

Mobil 1, but only for convenience. NOT because the filler cap has a stamp on it or because I think it's the best, which it's not, but it's good enough for what I do.

Mobil 1 is fine, but you can get much better synthetic at Walmart for about the same price. Quaker State Ultimate Durability, Pennzoil Platinum, Castrol Edge, or even Castrol Magnatec are all far better oils than Mobil 1.

I go by NAPA when they are closed and pick up a few gallons. The price is right and what could go wrong...

In fact for 2019 the new corvette standard is a special Mobil 1 0w/40 for high performance street and also track use. Should be in stores middle of the year but at dealers now.

why are those better than M1? Is there a published report?

Check out this thread for some light reading on oil testing. He updates the list on a regular basis so you need to continue to periodically check back.

ya that's been out for years, you can read through all his pages and never see anything of substance then he admits ...My test equipment is NOT intended to duplicate an engine’s internal components., then he adds his test is duplicating flat tappet cam wear between the lifter and cam like in my 45yo 340 6pack! I believe his test is a metal lobe spinning with a oil drop, and him pushing down a price of metal on it with a psi gauge. If he has video of test engines running different oils and a blackstone type analysis of the oil that comes out then I would give him some credit.

I doubt there is much difference for any of the full synth oils in the right wt range.
For years Mobil 1 was the original and is spec'd for the LS3. It's about average price. I shy away from overthinking something that has marginal utility.
Now, it's quite different on the motorcycle boards when comparing the virtues of SG rated oil vs SL and why SG is superior.
