Default Chameleon Paint Job

Has anyone seen a C6 with a chamelon paint job? Was curious as to how that would look. Was thinking of doing one on my car. BTW, for those that aren't familiar with what it is. It's a paint job that changes colors depending on the angle being seen from. Was thinking of three colors, deep purple, maybe a dark blue and a deep green. Thoughts?

That's not exactly what I had in mind as far as colors, but I do thank you for posting the pics so that people get some sort of idea as to what I'm referring to.

I think that would look awesome! I used to have a 98 Firebird Formula which I factory ordered in a color called Blue Green Chameleon and it changed from a teal green to a medium blue with a bit of purple in between as well. It was a very cool color that got a lot of great compliments. I always wondered why they didn't paint it on the C5 at that time though.

Here are some pics of it:

last car I was at a C5 had that paint job like the one grumpy posted, definately an eye catcher if you get the right color mix. You have to be dedicated though, if your car gets scratched or damaged, there is no way to match that paint correctly, the car would have to be redone completely

Nice pics guys
Yeah, seems like it would look nice, but quite a bit of money, just found out, the entire paint job would be about 5k-6k, not exactly cheap, but then again nothing nice is. Now just have to decide on some nice, rich, deep colors.

I have a 96 Mystic Cobra and I love the color, it is my daily driver while my AO is my toy!

Many people think this but it's not true actually. I've had 2 cars painted chameleon paint so I've become familiar with the paint. The first time I used House of Kolor kameleon, then the same car was later re-painted with Dupont Chromalusion. I later bought another car with Dupont Chromalusion paint. I had 2 repairs done on the first car and it blends just fine:

1)Repainted front bumper and hood after small fender bender

2)Repainted whole driver's side after I was sideswiped.

My friend paints cars and he was concerned at first but said it turned out to be as simple as a normal re-spray. So don't worry about that it's not a problem. What may be a problem, however, is the cost of the paint. Last time I checked it was $800+ per quart.

Of all the different brands House of Kolor is the darkest. It will look similar to the C4 corvette above. Dupont, PPG, BASF, and the others tend to be brighter shades/colors. You can achieve the same the darker looking color by just using less paint however. If you are happy with the shades of the C4 above you can achieve that with just 1 quart of paint. If you want more color, such as the 300Z, you will need 2-4 quarts. Sounds like you would be interested in green-to-purple. The two main colors and green and purple of course, and in between those two shades you will see blue. In the sunlight, gold magenta, bronze, and various other shades will show. House of Kolors calls that shade "Green to Purple," Dupont calls it "Absolute Purpleen."
