'89 Mustang GT did 115 before I could feel the front end get light, the steering less effective and the car felt like it would get out of control.

'95 Camaro Z28 did 150 and felt really stable.

'05 Corvette only has done 145. I'm older and wiser now and no longer care to attempt top-speed runs like that anymore.

It does get up to 100 really quick though!

3 miles per minute, Silver State Classic road race course. Been over 150 too many times to count. Very stable.

170 in my previous and first corvette. It's crazy when you back off and slow down to 105 and feels like you're going the speed limit!

Speed limit here in Florida is 70. I have pushed it to 73....I like living on the edge.

Interesting. I experienced considerable rear instability (lateral shake or oscillation) at around the same speed under hard acceleration. It was very disconcerting. My tires and suspension were in good shape, and I have not tried again, so it remains a mystery.

As a point of comparison, my '94 Dodge Stealth Twin-Turbo was rock solid at 170+ mph on the Autobahn.

150 on a nice two lane hwy ( central valley cal. ).
in the same area, was cruising for about 10 miles @ 100 on a back country road. this was about a 20-30 mile long road, one lane each direction, flat, not one turn, through some farm lands.
at the high end, it gets a little dicey, with less reaction time & the unexpected actions of any local wildlife.
I still prefer acceleration over the top speed...usually.

gotta know when to hold 'em, and when to floor 'em!

160+ish. For some reason I still can't get used to acquiring my info from HUD, and don't like looking down at such speeds. On my S2000 164mph at 9100rpm 23psi gear limited and by far the bigger thrill. Not that i'll ever give up the vette.........ever.......maybe for a newer one.

145 reading in the HUD on an unnamed road in an unnamed state.
However, I did hit 165 at Pocono Racetrack in a stock car.
Both rides were very exhilarating and fun.

152 on the Talladega track in my first C6. I haven't really had a chance to push the 427 convertible.

any problems with gators on the road?
during a 100 mph across some central cal. farm roads,
I can across what appeared to be, mating season for the local ground squirrels. for about 1-1/2 miles, their must have a couple hundred of them crossing the road. that scenario works better then radar for slowing you down.

I saw more hobos in florida then gators, but its pretty amazing how smooth sports bikes get at those speeds. Tampa has some long bridges which late at night no one is on usually. I live in northern kentucky now so we have back roads to have fun on with actual curves.
