2005 Cup Holder Door
I don't know who the GENIUS at Chevrolet was that designed that STUPID cup holder door in the console but it was a TERRIBLE idea, it's made up of a bunch of what looks like 1/4" wide slats and of course it's falling apart, does anyone out there know of a way to fix this, replace it (without purchasing the entire $500 console) or something 3rd party so I don't have to use the broken door.
thanks

Good luck, they are cup holder assembly with the door.
You need to pull the center console, and will see screws to remove and replace the assembly, good hunting.
If you want your owners manual on the web:

My 05 cup holder sliding door looks and works like new. How are these slider doors getting broken? Cup holders are not important to me as I only use them to set my phone in at times.

I never close the sliding cover on mine, maybe that's why it still works, Idk. The only thing I notice is if the car gets hot inside from sitting in the sun, the handle gets sticky/slimy, like the rubber coating is melted.

As part if the deal when I bought my 2008, the dealer supplied a brand new cup holder assembly and a brand new ashtray assembly since the cup holder cover was broken as was the latch on the ashtray cover. They (a Cadillac dealer) were going to install for me, but I'm about to install a MGW shifter, so since I'll have the console off anyway, I just picked up the parts and will do it myself (don't know how familiar they are with Corvette interiors). They didn't seem to have any issue sourcing the parts. Don't know if they differ from the 05 car or not though.

Mine spilt like it was coming apart in sections. It was like slides breaking apart is why I replaced mine. Also the tab to move to close it like someone else said gets sticky, my old one did, and the new one same thing.

I never close the cup holder door or flip open the vanity mirror. That's why mine both still look new. Unless I want to hide my gold Krugerrand's, I never had a reason to close the cup holder.
Why does it have door on it, to hide that you have a cup holder?

The sun dries them out and they crack in the "seams" ... happened to my 2007 ... found one in C6 Parts on the Forum for $25. Its the only sun-worn part on my car. As for the design, it seems reasonable. They might have selected a slightly better grade of plastic, but you can say that about much of the interior. At least the dash pads are not cracking like so many Asian cars that sit in the sun.

The OP wanted to know if it could be fixed. I don't think so but I'm not sure so I didn't comment on that. He wanted to know where he could get one. I gave an answer to that question because it only took a minute to look it up. If he had asked about cheapest, now having the part number, I would have spent another minute and looked that up. If he had asked about best quality, that could be looked up also. Would I spend $146 for a cover? NO WAY!!! I'd just leave it open and it would look like most other cars.

When I bought my corvette the cover was falling apart. I just removed it and even forgot that there was one to begin with. Don't plan on replacing it anytime soon. Not for $146

I had a spare cup holder and I sold the sliding door in the parts section. I'm like others, I seldom close the cup holder door.
If my slider ever breaks, I'll take it apart and contact cement a thin piece of flexible plastic (like a snow carpet) under the door to keep it together and re-install it. I believe this would work and it would not be noticeable from the outside.
