Best short throw shifter

As for shift ****, all depends how you shift the shifter.
I do road course work (banging down from 5'th straight into 2'nd at the end of most straights), so I grasp the shifter like is a broom handle from the side with my thumb upwards, while some guys do strip work of just ripping through the gears up one at a time, and they grasps the shifter palm on the top of shifter like it a Q ball isntead.
Once you figure out how you shift, this will dictate the type of shifter **** you want, and you can order the MGW shifter with the correct type of shaft so it fits that kind of shifter ****.
Threaded type shaft to accept a thread on ****,
OEM type shaft to accept the stock OEM **** isntead.
If you can't make up your mind of what type of **** you want, you can order the shifter with both shafts instead.
As for the OEM **** for road course work, it is a very good shape ****, and with the MGW oem type shaft, the shaft allows you to index rotate the ****, so it fits the palm of your hand like a glove when you are grasping it from the side. The OEM shifter has the **** set at 12:00, and when it index to 12:15~12:30, the side shape fits the palm of your hand from the side much better instead.
Also to point out, as you see the shaft can be adjusted up or down on the housing, so this can be used to adjust the lenght of your throws as well. Adjust the shaft up farther from the base before locking it down, and this increases the throws of the shifter.

I like my MGW but it is a notchy shifter. I got the Flat stick and got an upgraded gripper shifter **** that has the Punisher skull with the 6 speed logo in the skull = hard azz hell!!! LoL

Myself, prefer the more positive engagement points (what you would call notchy) at the end of the throws isntead.

I have a Core-Hurst with a flat bar and it looks great and shifts smooth as silk. Also has that great retro look. It has a threaded **** mount that accepts a multitude of **** selections easily. Love it, great price.

Of the aftermarket shifters, the MGW leads mostly due to including a new lower box (the others all bolt to the stock lower box as far as I know). I just installed the MGW last weekend and today, I had one washer added to the shift detent bolt which changed the feel to perfect from nearly perfect for me.
