Default Random 3 Clicks while driving?

Usually 2-5 minutes after I start driving. I think when I come to a stop light.

I hear these 3 weird mechanical clicks, coming from maybe the passenger side rear portion of the car?

Not really sure what it is. Seems like something is locking maybe, or fuel pump making noise? It happens every time. Is it just the lock system checking that everything is locked? If so why does it take so long into my drive?

All 3 clicks are coming from the same general area.

Does anyone else experience this?

---
Much louder than a relay. And I could be wrong but I don't think there are any relays in the rear end of the car.

Traction management system initializing makes sense I guess.

Normal. It is the traction management system initializing.

Mine does it too. It's louder than the usual relays. Makes a sound like pumping an old-fashioned oil can.

Mine has this too. My wife thought it was a mechanimal click, I think it is a relay click. To me sound like when other relays in the car activate. slightly louder. I've been told by many people it is normal, but no one has ever told me what I'd happening. Because of the timing I figure it has to do with the car warming up.

Oh that's what that noise is! I thought is was a problem, but nothing went wrong so I ignored it. This thread made me notice it again, what an awesome place for information.

My car (2010 C6 GS) and truck (2010 Silverado) both do it after about a min or two while idling. It sounds like a faster turn signal, but it comes from somewhere in the engine bay. It is a triple click, and I always took it as some relay that had reached a certain temperature.

A faster turn signal is a good discription. That's exactly what it sounds like.

I still have a couple of those around, and still use them.

Speaking of "clickers," who remembers these toys?

Mine clicks around 160 degrees -- halfway warmed up. I get four clicks, and I was told they are solenoids.

Maybe I really am deaf.

I have never heard (noticed) these clicks on either of mine.

I would expect that to happen much sooner than 2-5 minutes into the drive.

I've never heard this myself, now I'll have to start listening. I almost always have the radio on and the NPP exhaust open, are these clicks loud enough to be heard with that much other noise?

Relays, definitely. Even the brake switch makes a pretty loud sound. Fan relay, all of it.

I had called my first C6 "Rosie the Riveter" because of it. Completely normal.

On mine I cannot hear it except when at a stop with the radio off. I don't know about the OP though.

I didn't know they were still available. Or do you have an old one?

The timing of this thread is amazing I was driving my 13 GS Saturday and heard what i would describe as a noise very similar to the sound of a turn signal. My first thought was great wounder whats wrong, I always assume the worst! Thanks for the info super happy to hear its nothing to worry about

I wonder why the relays just start making more noise as they age, or was the car like that when new too. I bought mine used so I'm not sure.
