Dealer replaced HUD. After that, the option button would not allow me to personalize settings. Help please.

Curious how that will help. The post is a little short on info as do any of the buttons work? Perhaps the dealer didn't, or incorrectly, plug in the power to the option button.

Does it say options unavailable?

Why not take it back to the dealer so they can make it right?

True only first 2 fobs for memory settings, but still may be worth a try.

I am new to the C6 forum, having trading in my 1992 C4 coupe for a 2006 convertible. I too have a key FOB that states “OPTIONS unavailable”. Although at this point I am not sure of the implications since I am just discovering the many C6 amenities. But I did come across this document https://www.ls2.com/boggs/c6/C6%20Fob%20Programming.pdf . See step 3, it mentions no working FOBs. I cannot vouch for the validity of the source and have not tried it. Possibly others may be familiar with the procedure.

For the C6, you can have up to 4 fobs associated with the car, but only the fobs registered as #1 and #2 allow options to be set. fob numbers are set according to the order in which they are programmed, and may have nothing to do with the number printed on the bottom of the fob. What usually happens is that a fob is lost, and a new one added using the 'short' procedure. Most likely, that fob ends up as #3, which can't be used to set options. The only way to reassociate fobs in the order that you want is to follow the 'long' procedure. Also, AFAIK, you can only purchase fobs marked as 1 or 2, so if you want a 3rd or 4th fob, you should mark it in some way to allow easy identification.

If it worked before the HUD r/r and quit as soon as it was done, then it would be a huge coincidence if it had anything to do with the fobs. I would take it back to the shop and ask them to please get it working again. May be as simple as a CPU flash.

Default 2007 option fob inops

I have 2 fobs. When I push the OPTION button, nothing comes up on the screen. I'll print all these recommendations and take them to the Chevy dealer for a fix. I dread taking car there because iti's always full of fingerprints inside/outside and after fixing one thing, something else goes wrong.

I agree that the dealer needed to reprogram the FOBs. The personalized settings match to the FOBs 1 & 2.

Can you do the long procedure on a FOB that is already programmed or do you need a brand new one?
