Truly the best advice is to save your money and buy when you have cash. The money as you save will grow too. There are plenty of savings accounts out there that pay 3.5-5% which will get you to your goal faster. Just think though, you are going to lose out on all of that compound interest that your money could keep making if you don't buy the car.....

At 3% interest, you would save nearly $1700 by paying cash rather than borrowing. That's not even counting the money you will money while saving for it.
I disagree .......Now is a great time to borrow money if you have excellent credit. You can get a loan for less than 3% if you shop around. So after 5 years you have paid 1700 - 2000 dollars for the loan. That's less than 500 dollars a year in interest to drive your dream Vette......not bad. If you keep it over 5 years it's paid off. If everyone waited to buy a house, or car until they saved enough hardly anyone would be a homeowner, or be driving a nice car.

I just got 2.5% on my '11 GS from a local credit Union (SunCoast). They're going to refinance my DD for the same rate. They even offer up to 72mos at the same rate with no early payoff penalty. My credit is in the high end of good, above average but not "excellent" and I still qualified for that rate, though my DTI was strong. Financing deals are still out there!!!

Toy= cash buy. Don’t touch investments even though it’s tempting. Take the credit union loan if necessary.

Just about all of them unless you are real conservative. Mine is about 11-12% last year with low-medium risk.

This info was on the stock channel last week. Average car loan is $31,099, average monthly payment is $515 and average loan length is 5 years and 9 months. Nothing was learned during the last recession. These figures are new all time highs.

How recently? I looked at them when I bought my GS and their best rate was like 3.74, and I believe that was max 60mo.

December 2017. They quoted me the rate while I was on the road to JAX for test drive and started paperwork. I talked to Natasha Wood

Yep. I started the thread to discuss recent financing deals and some on here turned it into a Dave Ramsey seminar on money management.
