Though I would never consider it, a trailer hitch was a factory option on C3s!

Thanks for all the comments even from the haters. I would have checked to see if there was any past threads on the subject,, but it was good to here it again.
Thanks for your time,
I do think the vette would be able to pull the boat no prob, but I’m going to give it a try with the Rav.4 all-wheel-drive.

Many autocrossers in our club, tow small trailers with their tools/tires/jacks etc. I think physically it can be done, my concern more would be traction, etc. coming out of the water. I number of years ago I had a jet watercraft I pulled with our Honda Accord, about 700 lbs. It pulled it fine, and stopped fine, but when I had to pull it out of the water on a wet ramp it was spinning the tires many times. Also at times, I would have to drop the back wheels into the water when levels were low, not sure if I want would want a car with as low of clearance as a Vette in the water. After a year or so I traded in my Accord for a sport ute which did much better trailering! Not ever vehicle is right for every job!

Wrong on so many levels.

I hope he was stopping to put the Vette on the trailer and pull it with the sled.

But it is NOT recommended IMHO....
While I wouldn't recommend it either, there is some logic/symmetry in that picture.

Default And YES, the EDELBROCK SUPERCHARGER HELPS A LOT!

When Chuck Mosello (Chuck/CoW) replaced my original exhaust system with NPP, he had to modify that hitch to fit in the narrower space between the tips. He pulled out his blue arc welder and cut large bars out of an old snowplow blade, fashioned new mounting brackets with them, and bolted the modified hitch to the rear frame and internal bumper box frame. I swear it's strong enough to pull a cabin cruiser now as long as I get the tongue weight right. Lord knows Red's supercharged LS2 and hydroformed steel frame together make a stronger towing package than most large pickups.

I use my hitch to pull a small utility trailer full (!) of four C6 wheels/tires, or far more camping gear than Red's tiny vert trunk could haul to the lake. Do I get grief from Corvette purists? Sure I do, and I ignore them.

I think the Chuck CoW Z51 Corvette Towing Package might even beat out the Silverado Z71 Trucks!

Supercharger, Chuck CoW TUNE, (CoW BOOSTER! because Doc NEEDED it!) Huge Radiator, HD Engine Oil Cooler, and overbuilt Tow Hitch!

Towing Tongue weight always helps with TRACTION!

Now it's time for a Trans Overhaul Doc!

I typically haul 8 tires on there, or 4 and a jack plus rotors, pads, and other spares. It's as heavy as I want to go. Even with just 8 tires and wheels the car rides very different and stops longer. Sure the ls7 pulls it with ease, but bumps yank the back of the car a bit and stopping uses a noticeable amount more brake. 8 tires is right at the edge of my comfort level with this. I don't know how heavy that boat with motor is, but I bet it's more than my tires and the trailer itself is heavier too. I wouldn't tow it.

Please don't forget to post a video on how you launch/pick up the boat with your corvette. Will make a good epic fail compilation.

p.s. I have a 300hp. AWD sedan and I also wanted to tow a small boat with it, but upon some research I figured that towing is not about HP but about that if your vehicle was designed to tow at all. Buy yourself a 30 y.o cherokee for $1000 and tow a boat.

Launching and retrieving the boat is something I had not thought about.

I cannot imagine my car pulling a loaded boat and trailer out of the water. And looking at that picture I'm not sure you can get that trailer into the water far enough to load the boat without putting the back of the Corvette into the water. Corvettes swim rather poorly.

Time to think about plan C.....
^ I was thinking the same thing - in terms of HP you have plenty. Hope you've an automatic though. BUT...BUT... if you're into boats & Vettes, you'd want a more powerful SUV/Truck. Get a used one cheap, or trade yours for a V6 (or V8).

But it would interesting to see a Vette tow a Boat...

Don't forget about gearing, as well as the load on the transmission.

Boat ramps make for good comedy, especially on a hot day when the drunks return.

My owners manual (C6) says NO towing of anything & as far as hitches being available for a Corvette, that doesn't make it safe (per the manufactures recommendations) so go ahead & tow that boat around, just don't get into a accident
