Default Gear change

I have a 2012 auto and would like to change rear gear from 2.59 to 3.24. Has anyone done this? if so, cost for: Parts
Labor?

I live in Rio Rancho, nm. I am a 100% disabled combat veteran and need a shop to do the work, so if anyone has a good shop in area, PM me with name, address, etc.

Thx

I assume you mean from a 2.56 to a 3.42, so using a C6 Z06 rear is the easy solution. Quite a few base car owners have done that (I'm not one) and it appears to be a fairly simple job. Quickly looking on the Z06 forum, shows one about to be available soon in the Poughkeepsie, NY general area. It had about 31K miles on it before the crash. Not much left to salvage, so the rear end housing will be fairly cheap.

I agree with Hoxxy above related to the ratios, and the best way to find one to swap out................

you may want to check the regional area of the forum for advice on a shop in your area, link below....................

A better solution would be to leave the stock gearing as is & change out the torque converter to a higher stall speed...the car will drive like stock with normal driving but mash the throttle and you will find the best "bang for the buck" mod for your A6 car, and this mod will be cheaper than a gear swap...the A6 final drive gear ratios are actually better (lower) than the M6 trannies, many posts here listing the ratios

I think you have a good set up as is. Not sure the rear change is worth the cost or will make that much difference with out doing other mods. Thank you for your service to our country. Glad you can enjoy Corvette!
