Default Something strange happens between 44-46 mph

Started the other day...if I'm just driving down the road when I hit anywhere between 44-46 mph the engine seems to "race" to a split second. (Almost like it pops out of gear).Neither the tach needle or the speedometer needle move but I can feel it.
Almost like the engine speed increases then it returns to normal.
Its a 2013 auto. Any ideas?

possible that it may be the "lock-up" clutch in the torque converter engaging and disengaging, seem to recall that may be the speed range depending upon engine load/rpm that they engage.......

Thank you rkj427 according to the dealer that is exactly what it is. Went to Sunset Chevrolet in Sarasota today and with me riding along a service tech drove the vehicle and confirmed just what you said.
Nothing to worry about...the car is shifting perfectly.

Quick question -
How long have you had the car and previously driven in that speed range? Weird that it just started doing it if it truly is "normal."

This is not meant to hi-jack your thread, and I'll likely start a new one soon as I can't find anything in archives addressing my situation. Still doing some research.
2007 A6. Recently started hesitating between the shift from 4th to 5th. Just a slight increase in RPMs, then it kicks to the higher gear - not major, but I can feel it. Does not behave this way in "S" mode.

My thought is that if a car changes behavior, then something has changed, and may possibly need fixed. I'm guessing the service tech at Sunset knows Corvettes? Is there anything you can do to make the torque converter engage/disengage more smoothly, or just accept it as is?

I have had the vehicle since it was new. The vehicle now is almost 6 years old and certain parts may be wearing but at present nothing is wrong with the way it is shifting. The vehicle isn't throwing any codes and yes the tech knows Corvettes.
According to the tech at the load and RPM, the vehicle is shifting from 4th to 5th, 5th to 6th or 6th to 5th. The torque converter is just engaging or disengaging depending on how it is being driven. He also said that because it is shifting so smoothly and not shuttering or shaking the torque converter is working properly.

The tech is correct. If you are driving it, and are extremely light on the throttle when it reaches min. range for lock up, it could cause a slight hesitation before going into lockup.

Find a place to accelerate smoothly/briskly up to 70, then back off the throttle. My bet is your tranny will immediately go into lockup, with little or no hesitation

If it continues to concern you, have the fluid changed.

I have done exactly that on the interstate. Absolutely no hesitation. Shifts smooth as glass.
