Wife hated getting in and out, and won't drive it!

My wife loves ridding in the Vette, in fact all 6 that we've owned. She also loves ridding on my motorcycles through the mountains. If she didn’t we wouldn’t have been married 45 years.

C6 GS convertible is hers so Yes she really likes it. 68 is mine and Yes she really likes it too. She doesn't drive the 68 very often but once in a while she will jump right in and go.

Yes, my beautiful wife really likes to ride & drive our '08 ! We have taken it on a long road trip out to Arizona & Cali last year. She loves that the seats are much more comfortable than my former '11 Mustang GT. So all in all, happy wife !

I've only had my C6Z for a few weeks and so I've only driven it a few times myself (winter dragging on here in MN but had a few nice dry days). My wife was along on one ride and liked it well enough - not the kind of car she'd buy. When I suggested it would be great for weekend trips she agreed . At some point she'll drive it to try it out and then stick to riding along. In 10 years she drove my S2000 once. I think its mostly a visibility thing, can't see out to sides and back as well so not comfortable. She did appreciate the S2000 shifter and "got it" why I loved the car so much. We did take the S2000 on trips here and there and she was fine taking it. While she may not have much interest in driving sports cars, its not due to lack a ability. She's had manual transmissions more often than not in her cars. Back when I had a 944 turbo and was doing track days, she did about 6 events with me and turned in very respectable times!!! This at BIR in MN with high speed turns 1 and 2. i.e. triple digit MPH turns. So I have a verrrrrry understanding wife who gets my sports car hobby.

2020 C6 of the Year Winner - Modified
My wife keeps getting after me because she hasn't had a ride in it yet. The kids all jockey for position to see who will get picked up from school in it tho. It seems every weekend I'm free I'm doing something to the car; painting brake calipers, installing splitters, etc. This weekend she thought we were going on a date in the GS, but the seats are out of now for the next few weeks waiting on new skins, & I'm pulling the headlights out this weekend so... Guess she'll have to keep waiting

Mine doesn't. Last year we spent Easter with our daughter in Cave Creek, Az. That was her first Easter in Cave Creek since moving from San Diego. I needed to have some maintenance done on the Vette so taking it wasn't an option.
We are going again this year and the Corvette is all ready for a road trip.
I asked her if she wanted to go in it this year and she said no.
Looks like I will have to plan a trip later this year and go by myself.
Am I the only one who's wife doesn't like riding in a Corvette?

My son is going to Detroit Dream Cruise in August with me instead.

Mine not a big car fan to start with... Our age, both in our 70's, is factor and she has had both hips replace. If it was not for that she wouldn't ride in it at all.

Not really. She doesn't like the entry/exit, and she is agile, 5'5", and 110 pounds. I don't get it, but she is not thrilled with it. She was NEVER into the car culture, so she doesn't really appreciate what it is.

My wife likes riding with me, particularly around town and day trips and with the top off. It can be a little noisy and rough riding, particularly for long interstate trips. She's game for riding as much as I like to drive it.
But she doesn't like to drive it.

My wife is not a car person and thinks corvette's/sports cars are too flashy. Funny thing is she's always willing to go for a ride and seems to enjoy it. She claims she doesn't like driving it either even though she has and will. I suspect she likes the car more than she is letting on.

Like everyone our age, my wife learned to drive with a stick shift. She was driving a Honda hatch back with a 4 speed stick when we met.
The Corvette is the first car with manual transmission we've had for close to 30 years and she doesn't have any desire to re-learn a stick, especially with 6 speeds.
