Can you add NPP exhaust system to an '08 ?
I have been looking at a car that I like but lacks NPP. I don't know much about after market systems, but what concerns me is constant high speed drone. The NPP ability to turn it on or off really appeals to me. Anyone have any thoughts. Thx

Yes you can add the NPP and we have sold all kinds of them. Give either myself or Tom a call at 800-234-5284 and we can give you the information. All parts are at wholesale or less and no sales tax.

Hi,
Installing 2008 NPP mufflers on a C6 that didnt come with them is pretty easy..
The 2008 NPP mufflers will bolt up directly to your mid pipe. Just remove the stock mufflers and bolt up the NPP's.
Then to control the youll need a vacuum retrofit controller system.
Add the top of the line Sunset Orange Creations All-in-1 bi-mode retrofit kit with the Exhaust Commander setup and you have everything you need to control them.
With available options to Open and Close the butterflies from the DIC reset button, with a keyfob remote,
or get a user selectable rpm opening mode so they open automatically so there is no drone and open for the maximum amount of time automatically.
Every option is always 100% Zero Battery Drain AND All-in-1 has the remembers last setting mode standard on every kit.
Anyone on the fence about doing the retrofit, go for it! You are going to love it!
If you need any additional info, feel free to drop me an email anytime.

Recently installed Z06 mufflers in an '08 A6. I haven't run the NPP-in-a-box yet as I LOVE the sound full open (butterfly's stay open until vacuum is supplied). There is definite drone from 1400 - 1700 rpm but it's still fairly pleasant. I'll probably install the vacuum system to have the ability to quiet her up a bit if needed. I will say that the Z06 exhaust is about 1/3 the cost of the NPP. The NPP is a little louder unless you mod the Z06 mufflers but mine is plenty loud enough. Best mod so far!

Did my 06 a month ago with the NPP and Npp in a box. Its the best of both worlds. Nasty when you want nasty and civilized...Saved a couple hundred $ by buying used at www.corvetterecycling.com they are a Forum vendor and transaction went smooth. Delivered in two days in perfect condition.

I have worked with 20+ dealers on new car sales where the buyer insisted on NPP, we sent our NPP in a box to the dealer and they made the sale by installing NPP on a non npp car
Here is the process, just remember that the 2009 mufflers will not fit 2005 -2008, on those you can only install the 2008.

NakidParts NPP in a box, a set of NPP mufflers will give you an incredibly easy way to have just the sound you want, when you want, if you have a pre-2008 C6. In my case, throw in a set of LG headers, and you have rolling thunder at the flick of a switch. The combo of the headers and the NPP in Wild gives you AMAZING sound and “HEY, LOOK AT ME!!!” volume…the tonality and sound is that of a NASCAR stock car at WOT outside the car, yet quieter and less drone inside the car than the GHL exhaust I was so fond of. The install is very straight forward, easier with a lift, but as Ed has shown with his car, you can do it on jack stands. Here are some pics and descriptions of the step by step process; you will receive complete illustrated instructions with your purchase.
Nakidparts = NPP in a box
NPP Mufflers waiting for Install
Factory Exhaust Removed
Drilling a ¼” hole in the rear well
Run the Vacuum Tube though the hole
Run the Vacuum tubes through existing frame locations
After dropping the rear sway bar, snake the NPP mufflers up and over
Attach the pipes to the mufflers
Connect the vacuum hoses to the NPP mufflers
Make sure your muffler pipes are straight and level
Muffler hardware done and vacuum tubing run
Connect power cable to the Seat Heater Fuse
And of course, a quick run with Ed's Polishing kit
That's all there is to it.....All that's left is to go out there and have a blast with your new found customized sound.
Here's a link to a video of the sound

Ed, once again, THANK YOU!!!!

Another option would be to install elect. exhaust cut outs. QTP seems to be the big dog in the business and a duel set with controller cost about $600 installed if, and this is a big if, you know a good muffler shop. It's a pretty tight fit, but will fit. Ck the archives.
