C6 Corvette Z51 WHEELS
Can't seem to get a straight answer. Are the wheels on a base 2006 Convertible interchangeable with a 2006 Z51 convertible. From what I have read is that they are the same size wheels with the same offset.
Thanks for any help.

There is no such thing as "Z51 wheels" so yes, they will fit.

Z51 is the code for an option on '05-'09 base Vettes, but that option doesn't include any specific wheel. Any OEM wheel used on any C6 base Vette will interchange with any other C6 base Vette. They all have the same diameter, width, offset, and bolt pattern.

Ask,
just what is the Z51? I know the rotors are cross drilled. I was thinking that the rear wheels are bigger on the Z, but not according to recent posts. So, other than the rotors, what is the difference?

Thicker springs, and on the manual trans, different trans gear ratios, trans cooler, oil cooler, and power steering cooler. There also may be a difference in shocks, but I'm not sure on that. Also, the Z51-optioned cars have zerc fittings on the rear suspension.

Just to be clear, '07 - '13 base cars with the F55 option have J55 rotors (large and drilled) and the J55 option was also a stand-alone option on any base C6. They are often wrongly referred to as Z51 rotors.
The '07 - '13 base cars with the F55 option also included zerks on the rear tie rods.

Yep! According to Mike Antonick's "Corvette Black Book" I'm not the only one either. There were 4139 convertibles out of 11,151 built in 2006 with the Z51 option. That works out to about 32.2% of all 2006 verts had the Z51 performance package. The package listed for $1695.

I think we are interchanging the word OPTION and MODEL. Z51 WAS an option available for all base C6s as far as I know.

The Z51 RPO was taken away in 2010 with the introduction of the Grand Sport.
