I started looking for a replacement battery (AC Delco Professional Series 90-6YR) for my 2007 base Corvette.
Cannot seem to find this battery at auto parts shops. One site gave me the 90PS AC Delco which has a 30 month warranty.

If you have purchased one recently, where did you get it? Dealer?

I believe the code for that battery was changed to "PS", which is the "Professional Series" you are looking for. 6YR only means a 6-year warranty. Not sure why the change in warranty.

Is there a good reason why you need the exact ACDelco that came in your car? It's a battery...you can go to Wal-Mart, autozone, o'reilly's, etc., and get a battery the right size and power, that is just as good, or better. You can buy 6-warranty batteries just about anywhere.

Just replaced mine on Monday after the AC Delco refused to take a charge. Went with the WalMart EverStart Maxx. Three year full replacement warranty (+ 2 add'l years prorated) and $50 cheaper than comparable batteries from AutoZone and O'Reilly's.

You go to the auto parts store tell them you need a battery for your make and model car and you go home and put it in. I must be missing the rocket science part here LOL

After seeing how difficult it is to get a ac Delco battery, I think it may be best to get a Walmart battery as Walmarts are everywhere.

Be aware that the 2006-2007 C6 needs a type 35 battery. This is a different from those in later years, and not every manufacturer makes that size.

Got a Everstart Maax T5 Battery from Walmart today. Perfect fit. Drive out was $131.00. Battery has a 3 year replacement and 2 year prorated warranty.

Replaced mine today, too. Original (7 years) was tested by the parts store and showed no loss in voltage. Kinda felt cheated by not keeping it, but with the electrical gremlins that creep up with an old battery, I bit the bullet and bought a new one.

Great! I have had the cable vibrate loose in a Harley motorcycle battery. The battery will likely last for many more years.

My battery (Ac Delco) also tested goof but like you mine was 7 1/2 years old and I figured I would be safe and change it. Happy with my battery from Walmart and the prive/warranty are good. SUP

It's not difficult to get a AC Delco battery.I got one 2 months ago 2 miles from me at a tire/auto service shop.Ac delco only have the 42 month battery now,not like the the one one that came in my 07 and 08 vette.

If you get 3 years out of almost any battery when you live in the Phoenix area, you're average. New cars get a bit better, since everything else is new too.

I'm using a Deka motorcycle battery. It's only 18 lbs 360 CCA and less than $90. It's not for everybody, but if you race, the light weight is great.

Most aftermarket car batteries sold in the United States are made by three companies that build them for retailers: Johnson Controls, which supplies more than half of the market, Exide, and East Penn. They are sold under various names and built to the specifications of retailers, so performance can vary.

You are likely getting a Johnson battery no matter where you go so factors IMO should be:
1) enough power for your appliaction
2) proximity to store, even when on a road trip, should you need their warranty
3) Number of years for free replacement
4) Price

You are likely buying the same or similar Johnson Controls battery if you buy from:
Walmart,
Sears Die Hard,
Advance Auto,
Autozone,
Oreilly,
NAPA,
WalMart,
Costco,
Sam's,
Delphi/ACDelco,
Pep Boys/Bosch,
Firestone,
Interstate.

Looks like the days are gone for a 7-8 battery warranty. That is why I said get a battery with a long FREE REPLACEMNT warranty.
Many now have a 5 year warranty with 3 year free replacement.
Pro-rata warranty for a $120 5 yr (60 month) battery would likely be this:
3 year free, then a $2 per month ($120/60 months)cost through year 5.

So if your battery is dead in 4 years, you will pay 48 x $2=$96 for a new battery. Also most stores don't give you 5 years on the warrantied battery....you only get the remaining. Therefore in this example....Do you pay $96 and get one year remaining warranty....or do you buy a new $120 battery and get a new 5 year/3 free warranty?

I go Advance Auto because they have good online discount codes (RetailMeNot.com...buy online, pick up in store). This is my warranty experience:
Their battery is listed for $158. Had one fail at 48 months. They said pro-rata cost was 48 x 2.60=$124
I used their 30% off discount code and just got a new one/new warranty for $110.
