Default Grand Sport Held Its Value

Decided to move up to the C7 and pulled the trigger today. I have been driving C6s now for the last 6 years and I have been through 4 of them. My last version was a 2011 Grand Sport. It was a great car that I have owned for the last 30 months and she never gave me a single problem.

I know there are a hundred ways to look at the cost of ownership, but based on what I paid for the car and what I got for it, I figured the devaluation cost was about $200 per month. I can assure you I had much more than $200 worth of fun driving this car.

But I have been in love with the C7 since it came out and been searching for just the right one. I came across this 2014 Z51, M7, 3LT and the moment I drove it, I knew it was time to move on.

So me and my non-round taillights will be moving along to the next section of the forum. A great big thank you to all who have helped me throughout the years here. Take care, drive safe and we will see you on down the road.

$200/mo is a performance bargain I'd say.

Both vehicles look great, and at the end of the day it is really what you want that matters most.............

really worked out for you on the very reasonable costs from purchase of the GS to time to move on from it............

best of luck with the "new to you" Z51 C7 coupe......

I traded my 2011 C6 on a 2015 C7. I was happy with C6. Like the classic look, smaller body, interior and even a nice round butt of C6 compared to bulk of C7. I liked the front end look of C7 and the seats are better than C6. I am not a bells and whistles guy so the additional C7 electronics and their function was not a positive for me. Kept the C7 for 18 months but sold it when I found a garage queen 2013 427 Anniversary car. I am not knocking C7 but if you love Corvette and don't have to have the latest and greatest a sweet C6 has a lot to offer IMHO.

So it depreciated $6,000.00 from the price you bought it at 2.5 years ago. I don’t really see how that’s holding it’s value but at least you had fun and it brought you joy. I love the looks of the C7 and someday I might jump on it when I decided to get rid of my GS. Its a 2011 3lt 34k miles and it has depreciated from 33,500.00 from new. I got a few months ago for 33,000.

Shame to see the GS go. I went as far as I’ll ever go with C7: just put the C7 Z06 wheels on my 13GS.

I have been wanting to upgrade to a C7 for a while, some day it will happen. But looking at the two in this post, the C6 is a better looking car, at least from that angle. Good luck with the new ride.

Congrats!! Life is too short to settle for anything (if you don't have to) and I know in your case, you were patient and did your homework. Both are beautiful cars, but the new one is so cool. It's going to launch your daily commute into a whole new atmosphere.

Agree, not sure how $6000 is holding it's value. I would wonder how many miles you drove to lose the $6000. Enjoy the C7 regardless!
