Not a Vette day
I'm sooooo glad spring 'arrived' over 3 weeks back. Just had 3 days of ice pellets, freezing rain, and today, it's pissing down 'normal' rain. Lots of it. The city hasn't bothered to plow any of the side streets; maybe they won't and just let it melt, but it's a real pain trying to drive anywhere. The ice pellets packed down and turned into pretty much ice. I can't shovel the drive at all, unless I use a pick. Guess I'll just have to let it melt as well. The guy down the street managed to back into his own ditch. While he was spinning his tires, there was a very loud explosion, like a gunshot, and a puff of blue smoke from the RR wheel. Could be that he overheated and blew the tire.
The pics (since it didn't happen if there aren't any) really don't do justice to the mess.

WI was the proverbial 12 pin for this thing. Hammered.
Looks same as ON only a LOT more snow.
8" mid-state, 100 miles north (GB) at least 20"+.
All, on top of freezing slush. Whadda mess.
News doesn't get any better, same crap due again Wednesday.
Look for it to arrive in Ontario 24-36 hrs later.

Forecast for here on Sat/Sun: Ice from .75 to 1.25" thick. Barely had a crust, a non-event.
Heavy rains Sunday night into Monday: So far a bit less than 1/2".
I like it when they're wrong like this!

I like it when they're wrong on the good side too, but unfortunately, this time, they were spot on for us. I thought for sure we were going to lose power last night - must have taken a dozen small hits of a second or two, but thankfully, it stayed on. Others were not so lucky. I've really got to hand it to the Hydro crews who need to go out in this weather to patch things up.

5" snow yesterday in north central MN. Twin Cities got hammered with 12" to 18". When is this going to stop? Fifties by Friday and next week maybe in the sixties. Maybe it will be done.

I was able to take our Vette out for a 20 minute run on Saturday morning when we had a temporary clearing and sunny period that lasted long enough to dry the roads. That was the first time our car moved out of its storage spot since October of 2017. The long term weather forecast doesn't look too encouraging either.
I'm so glad that our wonderful prime minister Turdope and his environment minister Climate Barbie are doing everything in their power to battle global warming. I love our carbon tax so much it just warmed my heart to see that $1.65 per liter on the 94 octane pump when I topped off the tank on my way home.
We are so blessed to live north of the 49th parallel since I popped across the border yesterday to pick up my parcel from a parcel service on the other side. I picked up a part for my daily driver TDI. The dealer wanted $80 for the part I needed and I purchased the identical new Bosch part on eBay with free shipping for $30. It was a tough decision.

I'll keep my 80s degrees today, and you can have the white stuff with my compliment.

Potholes
All this bad weather has made big mean potholes. Between Indy and Detroit they were many really nice cars on the side of the road with flat tires that were caused by low profile tires hitting these enormous potholes and blowing the tires and probably bending the rims. Be careful these boogers are going to be around a long time this spring... maybe even Summer.

We had enough snow here in N KY Monday to turn the grass white for awhile. The potholes are out of control, I lost a tire on my dd a couple weeks ago and the same hole keeps reopening and taking out more tires. It seems like it it isn't snowing it's raining turning to snow and the chit just keeps coming. 38 and drizzle in the morning but hopefully that is the end of it for us, I can't remember any other April like this one.
