Default Why no aftermarket headlights?

I was just wondering why there aren't any chinese knockoff headlights for a C6 just like there are for most cars and trucks? Some obscure copyright thing?

Probably just not enough demand.

There was not *****ty base model option for the headlights, so there was nobody who needed an upgrade.

The C6 headlights are kind of a pain in the *** to replace and they're also huge. The internals are relatively decent quality and once modified with our D2S/LED Upgrade kit are excellent headlights.

OK, must be a demand thing then. I guess GM did sell a few more Silverado's. And likely the average C6 owner takes better care of their car than the average G6 owner. Still seems a bit odd to me with the huge amount of customization that goes on with these cars. Guess that is why I am not in the aftermarket headlight business.

Because there are too many variables (Colors)

Most cars and trucks have a simple chrome background.

One fits all.

GM should just produce them bunch in black. Seems like the more popular color and let the consumer paint them if they want.

I've considered it. Big dollars for a relatively small market in the grand scheme of things. I have the lens and working on a replacement housing to resurrect some...

That sounds interesting actually. I'm not really into mods but if there were a true plug-and-play swap for the entire headlight assembly, with a C7-LED look (vs the 3 round C6 lights) I might be tempted. Depending on how much it cost of course. Because the problem is what if the car gets hit and the company is out of business or discontinued selling the units.

Sir, the first pic you show makes the results look suspicious, and I am sure there is an explanation. Why is there are dark line down the middle, which looks like someone placed a tint over the pass side headlight. While I am sure you did not do that, as it would be dishonest, why do you not just show the headlights without the darkened pass side screen? If the difference is obvious, we will be able to tell, right?

I'm curious about this.

From Morimoto Facebook page:
"The C6 Corvette is undeniably an awesome car, and we think the platform deserves awesome headlights to match.
These XB LED headlights that are currently in development are based off of the OEM C7 design, and will utilize modern Bi-LED optics."

I am looking forward to seeing the finished product.

This is a merged picture. I took two photos from the exact same position (and same camera settings) with one headlight covered, then the other, then merged the pictures into one. (makes it easier to see the difference) Here are the originals:

35w D1S (factory wattage)

Even with new Umnitza lenses, Red's low beams are totally inadequate. I've told Morimoto I need a set of these ASAP.

they're coming. As sealed type headlights age and yellow, the aftermarket catches up. Theres really no point making/holding headlights when everyone has access to new lights/the lights havent failed yet.

Most Chinese headlight assemblies make Hondas look cheap. I would expect most to not meet the average Corvette owners expectations.

No kidding. These c7 fake headlights from morimoto look ricer as hell. May as well put some non functional hood scoops and a fast cannon on...
