Taking my C6 to dealership for the first time - do I need jacking pucks?
As the title states, I am bringing my C6 in for service for the first time since I bought it over a year ago. I usually do everything I can in my own garage, but this may be an A/C compressor problem so I am bringing it to the dealership.
I have jacking pucks and could install them when I bring it in, but do I need to? Have others had bad experiences with Chevy dealerships where they cracked a rocker panel because they didn't use a puck?
I get a little over protective when I bring my "nice" cars to a garage for the first time.

Any dealer that sells Corvettes should be qualified to service them and have the proper means to lift them. I would still verify with them when dropping the car off if you are concerned. It wouldn't hurt to bring your pucks along just in case.

Buy the snap in pucks.....they stay in all the time are invisible and work great. It boggles me why GM didn't add this from day one.

Thanks for the replies. I have the regular hockey pucks with the eye screws that the previous owner gave me. I will bring them to the dealership when I drop it off just in case.

If the service I'm going in for requires a lift, I always bring a selection
of "pucks" and ask if I can assist in lifting the car properly.
I then go home and let them do their job.
Works out well!

Pucks? I just hand the repair shop the lift diagram. No problems so far. Haven't been back to the dealer since my warranty expired.

dont be timid....question them because once it gets out of your sight.....its out of your sight. And request their Corvette Tech....they all have oneClif

I think we all do. Do not be afraid to do your do your homework. Before I took my C6 to the mechanic the first time, I interviewed 3 Dealership/Corvette Tech's I asked to talk to the tech and even asked for a tour of the repair facility. Luckily I found a Tech who was as detail oriented as I am.

I think we all do. Do not be afraid to do your do your homework. Before I took my C6 to the mechanic the first time, I interviewed 3 Dealership/Corvette Tech's I asked to talk to the tech and even asked for a tour of the repair facility. Luckily I found a Tech who was as detail oriented as I am.

What boggles the mind is why GM decided to cantilever the delicate rockers way underneath the car. And repeated it again on the damned C7. It leaves the car inordinately susceptible to damage.

I carry a set of pucks in both cars.
You never know when you might need them, and they are always handy. I either hand them to the service writer or leave them on the driver's seat then dropping off the car.
They do no good in the garage at home.
