Ok, another recent thread seemed to generate a lot of negativity based on the question of why all Corvette owners don't drive their cars the same way (asked in a much different way).
But here is a question: How do you use your Corvette - and why?
Let's try to keep the anger and judgements out.
I'll go first. I use mine mostly as a weekend driver and cruiser. I like to do some projects on it for fun and also enjoy the occasional car show. I do like cleaning and polishing it (not exactly sure why, but it is part of my "car hobby")
Why? I am not retired, so I still am busy during the week with work and family obligations. I don't drive it daily to work because the traffic in Northern Virginia (DC area) is some of the worst in the country. I still enjoy it as a toy and will someday have more time to take longer cruises.
For now, weekend driving outside of the congestion is still fun!
I can't believe I clicked on this thread, and am posting the same info as I've done numerous times before, but a lot of people here think everyone's lifestyle is (or should be) the same as theirs.
I work at home and pay a driver to run back and forth to the city for me, which is an 80-90 mile round trip, maybe 2-4 times a month, depending. So I end up driving my truck and Vette a total of about 6-7k per year, local business and pleasure combined.
My Vette is a summertime fair-weather toy. I like to keep it sparkling clean inside and out which is easy to do if you keep it out of the mud and the blood and the beer. In four seasons I've averaged 2.5k miles per season.
My all-weather 12 month-per-year vehicle is a 4WD pickup; it gets about 4.5 - 5k miles per year of the total.

Mine is a Garage King
Just knowing having the C-6 gives me joy.
Knowing I can take out anytime.
Take it out weekends and special occasions.
I have a daily commuter vehicle for every day.
I bought my 07' new and for the first four years it was my daily driver. The only time I didn't use it is when it snowed. Haveing been retired since 2011, it is now a spring, summer, fall driver. If the roads are OK in the winter, I'll still go for a ride though. The winters in the mountains can be nasty and messy with snow and road salts.
10k a year when new 10 years ago. 4k a year now. Why?
1) my job back then allowed me to drive the vette a few days a week to work. Now need a work truck daily.
2) 10 years ago, my social life had me cruising for "chicks" and dating in the vette. Now I am with a woman with a teen daughter so have to use her 4-door because the girl has gotten too big to load in the hatch.
After being given a year to live I went out and bought mine the same day. Winter here is very long, but I have managed to drive it at least once a week. I enjoy washing, waxing and just looking at it. It makes me feel good. I think that’s what this ownership thing is and this forum as well. The whole experience makes us feel good. That is how and why I use my corvette.

I drive mine an hour and some change one way back and forth to work...it's ok,I've worn a hole in the seat bolster,it's been painted twice because of crazy ex gf, then attacked by buzzards (it's an outside car). It's got ~120,000 miles,just put the second regulator in the drivers side,one time for pass side,and an oil pressure sending unit just recently.
I use mine strictly for pleasure and occasional errands when I feel like taking her out for a spin. Even my insurance policy indicates “vehicle used primarily for leisure”. Why? Because I’m retired, I no longer need a daily driver, we have three other vehicles, and the Corvette is the best toy I’ve owned yet.

I leave mine in the garage to look at. I had my wife hide the FOBs so my only enjoyment is looking at it while I walk outside to the garage apron and climb into my 75 Ford Pinto.
I daily my C5 and beat on it every now and then. It's a lot of reliable fun for not much money. I am shopping for and plan on buying a C6 Z06 or at least a LS3 this summer. I would probably take a lot better care of that car!
Daily driver. Why? Because if I wanted a Garage Queen, I'd just divorce the wife and find me a younger woman. It's a toss up which would provide the more spirited ride...
There are a lot of people that have "toys" in my area and do not daily drive them. One of the "cars and coffee" events in Great Falls, VA. is on a completely different level than most. Ferrari's, Lamborghini, Bentley, Cobra, Rolls Royce, Porsche, Corvettes new and old. Just google: Katie's Cars and Coffee Great Falls for some entertainment. Here are a few videos. The second one is entertaining when a mom backs up over the top of a Ferrari 458 Speciale.

Yet another reminder how short and precious life is. Glad to hear you are enjoying your car. NEVER give up hope!!!
I will use mine as a DD during the Summer/Fall and drive it on any nice days throughout Winter/Spring. Why? because my DD has 150K miles on it and needs some work including AC system so I will use my Vette as my DD while I tear apart my other vehicle. If I lived somewhere warm or where Winter was not 7 months, I would probably sell my DD and drive the Vette everyday. I personally hate driving, but if I have a chance to drive the Vette I can not get behind the wheel fast enough!
If the weather is nice, I get in it and drive. I told my kids they will inherit a worn out car. I doubt it will
be really worn out though. I'm getting ready to put in a newly rebuilt engine and if anything needs upgrading
or doesn't work to my satisfaction, I'll be changing it.
