I also thought of buying splash guards for the car. I didnt buy gm ones... I got ebay ones for 80 bucks or so and they look oem. Only thing I'm concerned about is the 3m tape. But even if it comes out it doesnt look too bad I guess. It's still uses push pin retainers.

I took a look at the cabin air filter (since I only discovered where it was last night) and it was time for a new one. Turns out it's on the upper passenger side firewall held by 3 ring clips. Easy peasy. Although it doesnt look like those filter fit in well. Ehh
Hey Jaime!

I put GM guards on my car I think three years ago. It has been through the car wash numerous times and the tape is still holding up fine.

Cabin filters: No, they don't fit very well, seem to be slightly big. Have to be careful putting them in.

I changed my earl and other things to it on Wednesday and put her to bed. It was just in time, as the salt trucks were out Friday.

Had a good rain Thursday, salt is gone! The ground in front of my barn was dry enough today, so I took the Vette out for the first time. When I got up to the road I was flicking through the DIC and realized the tires were still pumped up to 40, so I had to go back and let some air out of them. We had a high of around 70°.

Otherwise, it started and ran like a champ. You'd never know it sat for five months. Sure wasn't like that in "the days of yore."

Did the Lowe's and two bar tour today. I saw a car -- a red convertible, top down -- coming towards me that I thought for sure was a C7 -- had the same shape headlights and L-shaped LED driving lights.

This all happened in a few seconds, but as I waved I realized it didn't look quite right and probably wasn't a Corvette. I checked the butt in the rear-view, and for sure it wasn't a C7 or any other Vette. Had maybe round-ish or close to round-ish tail lights. Nothing else on the butt looked Corvette-ish.

I'm assuming it was European, but does anybody know what car looks similar to a C7?

I did see an actual C7 and tailed a Maserati. I have to get out of the woods (and drive 20 miles) to ever see cars like that.

Well, if you're going to wave at a car, then I'd be flopping my hand, because, really, who doesn't want one?

I'd have one if it was workable.

Someone asked me this evening, after working on the Vette all day, if I would ever find I car that I could just leave alone and not mod/tinker with. I said, sure but I must win the lottery first. That way I could have Ferrari build the car exactly the way I want it.

The guy must have thought I was wacked for waving. We were coming at each other, both doing probably 60, and my hand went up right about the same instant I realized it probably wasn't a C7 -- or any other Corvette.

Lessons learned over the decades got me to leave well enough alone. Plus I just don't feel like monkeying any more.

Here is a Motor Trend test of a 2018 that I ran across, and had to read, whilst searching for the picture I posted.

Price as tested: $465,509. So if you had them custom-build it to your specs, I wonder where that number would end up?

I got out of the woods today and headed to where all the money is (Canandaigua). I just got a quick glimpse, from probably 1/4 mile away, of a bright red mid-engine. At first I'm thinking "C8!" Eh, well no. I didn't see any Vettes or other mentionables.

I was headed for Lowe's to get a new Weber grill; I had to throw my old one away last year. I'm in the store thinking, even after seeing the box, that it should easily fit in the front seat (I had the top off, stored in the rear.)

Wouldn't fit in the front seat so I'm thinking NP in the hatch. So, get the top out and put it on, box won't fit in hatch -- it lacked several inches before it would close. So I ended up jimmying it into the front seat, resting against the shifter. But it all worked out okay.

I'm itching to cook a pork roast tomorrow and now I'm all set.

Polished the baby up this morning and went bar-hopping. Perfect day, 80, low humidity, no clouds.

I stopped at a winery near me >>LINK<< and snapped this pik:

Pork roast is doing great!

It was a perfect, cloudless day, which equals "Vette Day."

Besides, I was pretty sure the box would fit in the car somehow. It was a lot closer than I thought, but it all worked out.

Toyota is still new with 11k miles, and starts fine.

Had rotors and pads installed on all 4 corners. Sourced the brake kit from Summit Racing, which was good experience. Used PowerStop kit PWR K1445-26. Work was done by Wallace Chevrolet, another good experience. Took the vette to the local back roads to follow the brake-in procedure. Next step is to remove the wheels and clean and maybe paint the barrels. Don't know if I'll paint the rotor hats. They are plated and we'll see how long before they start to rust. On the other hand, maybe there's too much silver there now. Flat black looked ok before.
