New Tire Recomendations
Hey Guys. I need some advice. I want to put new sneakers on the C6 and not sure what to buy. I hate the ‘Run Flats’ that I have now, so I want a regular tire. I live in NY but I don’t use the car in the winter so I don’t care if I get an All-Season or a Summer tire. I want something quiet and ‘grippy’. What do you recommend? Also, I have stock rims on it. I believe they are semi-polished aluminum and clear coated. Can I get them polished to a mirror finish or am I wasting my money or looking for trouble? Thanks.

This question gets asked literally every day on this forum. Spend a few minutes searching the forum and you will find your answer. There are probably 3 threads with this question within the first 5 pages of the "General" section. There are more in the "Tech" section. Not busting your chops, just letting you know the answers are already there.

Non run flats will be a bit more quiet. I have Michelin Super Sports.

Hmmm A tire thread. Haven't seen one of those in at least a week , not the mention the other 100 in the last 6 months

Can't go wrong with Michelin. I went with Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3+ Run Flats for my 2013 base coupe. Very pleased with handling and the ride.

Have had the dreaded Goodyear Eagles and Michelin pilot sports. They all get hard and noisy after a while. Would recommend Firestone run flats, quiet, even after wearing, and wide. Best tires I have ever owned

And, they all get louder the older they are too, as the tread wears. I'm comparing new versus new, so it is apples to apples.
Just about any new tire is going to outperform the worn out old tire that is being replaced

Summer Tire Recommendations (Non-Runflat):
Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 - $680
Continental ExtremeContact Sport - $835
Michelin Pilot Sport 4S - $893
Those 3 are your best options IMHO. Those are Tire Rack prices just for consistency.

Well , looks like I'm going to go against the grain a bit with my recommendation. I hate runflats , and just carry a small 12 volt air pump and a plug kit in my C6. I have had good luck with non runflat Dunlop Direzza DZ tires.. I got almost 30,000 miles out of the last set, they grip great and are pretty quiet.. Liked them so much I just bought a second set...The whole set was less them $700.00 and they now have a $50.00 rebate going on. .....WW

I agree. If money is no object, go Michelin PS. If you're looking for bang-for-the-buck, go Firestone Indy 500.
