Default Z06 wheels on a base C6

Im sure this has been discussed on here some where! But I can't find it. Does anyone have pictures of C6 Z06 wheels on a base C6? Im curious of what tire size people are running?

Don't do it. Too wide. Sticks out past fender if I remember correctly

Yeah to late, the guy I bought the car from already put the Z06 wheels on it with way to small tires, I assume to keep them from sticking out to much. I was hoping someone had a better idea? I just don't want to buy new wheels, I like the look of the Z-wheels.

I'd be surprised if those tires wear evenly, or even provide proper grip. Would have to run a lot of air to have an even surface pressure across the entire tread.

My advice....since you like them, buy a new set of Z06 replica wheels in the correct sizes, and sell the Z06 wheels to recoup the cost. It won't look good with the correct size tires.

Yeah, they don't look too good, that's why I want to replace them. Looks like the PO ran them hard. So I'm trying to see if there is a size that won't be too big but still fit, look and perform without buying new wheels!

Corvette_ed, I like your idea. Any suggestions on where to get replicas?

A simple Google search will do it. I honestly think your set up seems a bit dangerous, ugly and j would be embarrassed to drive it around. Nothing will work if you don't change those wheels.

I believe one of the more popular vendors is Florida Speed, but they all sell the same replica as they come from the same manufacturer. You would most likely not have to get new tires either considering how much the ones you have are stretched. What are the tire sizes mounted on those wheels?

I think he mentions the size of the tires on post 3 under the picture... which are the correct size for base c6 rears.
OP just take the tires off of those and mount them on the correct size replicas when and if you get them.

C7 z51 19/20 inch BLACK/silver or chrome if you prefer)rims fit nicely and I get a ton of compliments.

They often come with tires that are great for around $1500.

If you are buying wheels and tires I'd suggest 19/20s as it's the one area to create a slightly more contemporary look..

I'm very happy since I did this.

The car looks awesome.

Contact Bob at “house of wheels” He carries stock and replica wheels that will fit your car. I just bought a set of C7 Z06 wheels off him 2 weeks ago.

You can also retrofit Z06 rear fenders. There are aftermarket kits called the "Wide Booty" I think.

Using the classified section right here you might be able to put a set up together at a cost not much more than 2 new wheels and then you get wider wheels.

Good luck.

Actually, stretched tires have been all the rage in the import world for a long time. The wear isn't nearly as extreme as it can seem at first glance. Stretched tires wear OK as long as that's all that's done. The major problem comes from the "stance" crowd that have extreme camber or extreme lowered vehicles without correcting the camber. Then you have these stretched tires on really bad camber and then you get all that bad wear. By themselves, tho, stretched isn't bad.

Go with a reproduction wheel in the design that you want. Using OEM Z-06 wheels is not a good idea even when using a stretch tire set-up. If you break a fender then you have a real issue to deal with. Just go with a reproduction wheel with the correct offset.

So this is what I ended up with. C7 z51 19 front 20 rear, with Michelin Pilot 4s. Ride is so much better!
