Default Need exhaust suggestions

I have a 08 C6 z51, and I recently installed a set of 1-7/8 TSP Longtubes with a 3” off-road x pipe with a muffler delete (pretty much straight piped). I absolutely love the sound of it at WOT, but it’s very loud even at idle. I’m not sure if I should go with a catted x pipe, or an axel back exhaust. Either way, I am trying to achieve a quieter drive in the 1000-2500k RPM range. I’m thinking about going with a Corsa Sport axel back because I’ve heard so many good things about it, but I would like to hear other suggestions before I jump on it. Thank you!

I'm in the exact same boat. 2100 RPM drone is terrible. I think I'm going with Borla Atak axle back. Apparently they've been engineered to be loud but no drone. Haven't been able to hear for myself so it's a $1600 gamble.

Headers with stock mufflers, quiet until you get on it. I have corsa extremes, absolutely no drone even with headers.

Works like the NPP exhaust (which I have with headers on my GS). You can keep it quiet when the popo are around, then you can wake the dead with it open and you get on it

Hooker Blackheart NPP best of both worlds like the B&B fusion at a cheaper price. It may weigh just a tad more than the Fusions though.

I have ARH with catted X and Hooker Blackheart NPP and it sounds good but I also have a cam.

Just get you a Mild to Wild Kit if you don't have the NPP from the factory

Excuse my ignorance. What is NPP? I thought all C6Z's would work with the Mild to Wild switch. No?

Beastly, here's a thread with some Corsas . I have used them on the last 4 LS Corvettes and love the sound. Good luck.

Look at that link and look at the mufflers right before the tailpipes those are actuators and they close off one pipe on each side making it a lot quieter and if they are open it's a lot louder. It's like a Jekyll and hyde effect. youtube corvette npp or corvette mild to wild (M2W). If you don't have the Actuators you don't have the NPP style mufflers. So if you buy the NPP style mufflers and want to make them functional you will have to buy a Mild to Wild kit that comes with everything you need to make the mufflers functional. If you buy the NPP style mufflers and your car did not have the NPP option or you don't have the vacuum line then the mufflers will stay in the open position. You will have to do more research and you will understand how it works.

Thanks Jay. Were NPP mufflers an option on C6's?

Corsa sports for me! No mufflers is not an option unless you are 16 years old

Yes, it was an option beginning in 2008 I believe with the LS3 engine. A similar system was standard equipment on the Z06 2006-2013. If I'm wrong someone will correct me.

Stock Z06 or ZR1 mufflers. They sound great WOT while being quiet at low rpms. Theyre also already 3" as well and if you like you can add the mild to wild switch to be stealth or loud.

I'm running KOOKS 1 7/8 long tubes, off road X pipe and Borla S Type II axle back. Love the sound and NO drone.

My recommendation is to try to ride in a car that has the system that you are considering. It also makes a huge difference is the car is a coupe or convertible. Only you can decide what is best.

I just installed LG headers with high flow cats and Borla Atak 3inches through out the entire system. It sounds amazing maybe too loud but I really like the deep rumble old school!
