It’s all good. We had spinach artichoke dip, four cheese manicotti, lasagna, bread & salad, and a triple chocolate cheesecake for desert. There’s actually some better local family Italian places in town, but this place has a history for us that goes back about 15 years, and like others have said, often times it’s more about the trip than the destination.

I took a 6 hour train ride from Tokyo, with a 15k hike through Mt. Rokko, to another 2hr train ride to the back side of Kobe, to pay $480 for a Kobe Steak at a family restaurant that raises the Kobe Beef cows themselves. The journey is as memorable as the steak was.
That IS a journey. Thanks for sharing.

I drove to Georgtown Maine for a lobster roll last Saturday, 536 miles. Most of it at the prevailing speeds, 80 to 85, and I was not leading the pack......

Did you eat lunch and then make it back home in one day?

We did, but I think you’re asking if Grand Sport Jim made it in one day. 536 miles one way or round trip is a haul, but I’m sure it was a blast to drive and well worth it for some good lobster.
And I understand Grand Sport Jim not leading the pack. We were just keeping up with traffic and making a few passes at 80-85. Kia’s, SUV’s and 4x4’s etc we’re rolling at 90 on I-35 most of the way to Dallas.

C6 of Year Finalist (performance mods) 2019
that's what I'm talking about!
my question is, when on my upcoming trip, how clean do I keep the
car ( outside )? badge of honor in keeping it full of bugs? or respect in a daily washing? I have no plans or desire for the use of bra ( on the car, or me ). I'm guessing I'll hit a few rain storms on the way, so its' probably moot.

Avoid Interstates if possible. You may have a destination, but make it an enjoyable journey to get there.

Heading out!
I'm more into the performance than the appearance. Wash when needed, but enjoy everything fully. The last trip took my HS buddy to Reno (HAN) and then to Bonneville by the way of Yosemite. After being on the salt I washed the car 4 times before getting home and still had lots of salt on the underside. ~3500 miles in 9 days, 4 Nat'l parks, a State park, a Nat'l monument, 2 great car events, and lots of fun with an old friend.

I'm the same boat. I try to keep my car as clean as possible, and do feel bad when it gets a bit scruffy. but when you're on the inside driving, I don't even think about it.
this trip will be more of a road trip. if it was just me, I may have only seem a hotel twice or three times maybe ( 9 days ).
with my daughter it will be a bit more.
my record is Toledo to concord, ca. ( SF bay area ), 2,400mi, in less then 2-1.2 days. I was ready to do again immediately.
next trip will probably be more of a sight seeing trip.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread and those that may still contribute. We’ve heard of 7 mile trips to the nearest Taco Bell, 10 miles to the Jiffy Burger, 86 miles for great Chineese food, 380 miles for Dinosaur BBQ, 472 miles for Bison Burgers, 482 miles for 45 day aged steak in Vegas, 536 miles for Lobster Rolls in Maine, and 690 miles for Crab Soup in Georgia. There were also road trips of 6K and 8K miles with lots of stops and good eats in between! A 6 hr train ride and 15k hike led to a $480 Kobe Steak in Japan.
I think that highlights many of the day trips and cross country road trips as well. I may have overlooked one or two..., Thanks again to all who told of their Corvette travels. This is a great Corvette Community. Feel free to comment if you haven’t (or have) already. I’ve got the C6 washed, waxed, fueled-up, and ready for the next road trip.
