Two things I don't care for at car shows..

1. All (insert brand or model) shows, I like to look at a variety of cars.

2. Cars that I can see on a dealers lot.

These are the cars that belong in car shows. True eye candy.

Then there were the Corvettes. Guys, they sucked. Every other car had something actually done to them. The standout vettes was a damn fine looking 58, a great 66, a 68 and after that, pure boring. Some C4's, C5', a single C7 and not a a damn thing done to them other than being detailed. Two of them (9 total) didn't even have their hoods open. I can see just as nice corvettes in a used car lot. In short, they took up spots other cars EARNED. The Camaro's looked mean and sharp. They were the top of the GM food chain at this show.
Well obviously the problem here is there were no C6's. lol

My C6 is stock save for a MGW shifter. I like it being stock. It's a driver's car. I enjoy it and still go to show and shines 3-4 times a week in season for us.

My camaro is a ls3 swap with ford 9 inch and would make short work of my vette at the track, but as for show cars, a nice clean vette is always a treat to see.

Alot of the car shows I go to are fundraisers for churches, community clubs, and other charities so the more cars the better. If there is a car I'm not interested in I just walk on by.

This is some serious WTF when a Corvette owner is ranting on a Corvette forum about other Corvettes at a car show that's open to all years and makes.

So by owning a Vette, one is expected to "fall in line with group think"? I do see that attitude is a part of these forums.

I don't do clique's.

I do like the term I read on here where these people are referenced as "waxers". It damn sure fits.

I agree, and usually when somebody customizes there Vette to their tastes to make them unique they get hammered on this forum.

The people who created these cars in your post are what custom cars are all about, pushing the envelope. I'd rather see cars like these than stock cars at any car show.

They sure do. There is a stench of political correctness about what a corvette should be in here by some. My response to them is the middle finger.

They belong were the owners decide they belong.

In addition to telling everyone on the forum, hopefully you told the Corvette owners at the show of your displeasure with them entering.

Again, alot of the car shows are fundraisers for churches, community clubs, and other charities so the more cars the better. Please understand this.

I pretty much agree with this. I go to a car show to see older cars that have been well kept survivors. I don't have a problem with someone that has a 2008 Corvette showing their car, but, it just doesn't interest me. If there is a cruise-in, great, but, for just a car show, I think they should be C3 or older.

I agree about putting a stock car in a car show is a waste of time and let’s get real, nobody wants to see a C4 ever. There is nothing special about seeing a clean C4,minus the ZR1. I avoid car shows and bike shows but will occasionally make the trip to stl for cars and coffee. Used to take the Ducati there but park it out of the way.

I often take my 2012 CE GS to car shows to spectator. I'm often asked why I didn't enter my car. The above is the reason, the car doesn't feel like a show car to me, because it's just a stock car with nothing really done to it. I just feel like that' not an interesting car in a car show, if it's newer than 20 years old.

Car shows can be quite boring to say the least but it is about listening as others tell their stories of what they did to their vehicle. For some polishing is their biggest capability and they are proud of themselves. We can't all be builders. Be happy for each entry and thankful that they thought enough to join a group of enthusiasts for a day of fun and story telling. It is also about how you made that person feel when you walked away. What did you leave them for their impression of you. Share a smile take a picture you can always delete it later but that person sitting there in the sun all day just had his/her heart lifted when you showed even the slightest interest.
