I went to a local car show today. Vette guys need to SERIOUSLY step up your game.

I couldn’t agree more. Many shows out here in Phoenix and a stock C5, 6 and 7 just don’t cut it if you want to show.
My car’s interior is gutted and being redone from dash to rear bumper.

If you have such a disdain for this forum & other Corvette owners perhaps you should sell your Corvette & buy one of those awesome Mustangs. No need to respond as I haven’t read anything with any semblance of intelligence or value come from your keyboard & I’m exercising my right to not read any more of your drivel. Peace.

hahaha...you go to a show in Des Moines, IA, and proceed to lecture the nation on who and what should be in a show. wow....
Why would a Corvette owner enter his car in a Mustang car show? Maybe nothing else to do on a Sunday? You go to any decent Corvette car show, you will see plenty of hot cars, with hoods up. The difference between Mustangs and Corvettes is that Corvettes are drop-dead gorgeous as they came from the factory, so why "mod" them, other than engine mods or detail? Most Mustangs need to be modified in some way to have any kind of personality (excepting SC Cobras and a couple other very nice Mustangs).

I think some people buy a 15yr old vette for the looks of a fast car. Because whether you know about performance or not, it should still be obvious that 300-400 horsepower on today's road is not even a notch up. And neither is 500 really either. So instead of spending the necessary 15k to get into that territory better just to leave the vehicle alone, as its still fun to drive even if it isn't the fastest thing they make anymore.

Seems like since you’ve joined this forum you’ve pretty much done nothing but bash it & fellow Corvette owners for not being as hardcore as your Harley group, and now not as cool as your co-worker’s awesome Mustang club. And if someone shares a different opinion than yours or doesn’t agree, you turn to immediate name calling as they must be some “liberal snowflake” - your oh so original comeback to anything.

A lot of us older guys don't give a rat's butt about trophies or impressing anyone any more. We've all been there, done that, and most of us have a garage full of plastic dust collectors that were fun getting at the time, but the importance has passed. Now we go to car shows and cruises not to get our buddies to vote for our ride (most of them now are participant voting), but rather to see guys we know from shows, check out their latest rides, and just spend the day being friends. We don't have anything to prove to anyone if we have a stock Vette. But buddy, if you think that getting some little piece of shiny gold plastic makes your ride more important or better than others, then hooray for you. Personally, I appreciate an older, clean, stock Vette than anything new thats filled with shiny parts and doors that go up and tiny tires on big black wheels. Because we all know that they're the cars that guys will say "wow, that's cool" to the owner's face, but then laugh at him when they walk away and wonder what he was smoking. lol

Dearest OP,
Vettes dont need silly body kits, chameleon paint/wrap/plastidip, "stanced" wheels that sit at a ridiculous angle, 22 inch rims, lambo doors, etc. There are plenty of owners here with cammed or supercharged motors but look fairly stock. On behalf of vette owners I would like to apologize for not meeting your needs.
Sincerely stock vette owner.

Burning Brakes
Burning Up the Beaches car show
While on vacation this last weekend, I attended the Burning Up the Beaches (all makes) Car Show in Destin, Florida.
Primary reason for attending was to see the local Corvette club's entries, primarily what C6 owners were doing to their cars and how many I considered "show ready".
All make car shows are totally subjective to the attendee"s preferences. I saw an all original "67 Oldsmobile Toronado, front wheel drive, but upon closer inspection, found wax residue in the door jams and around the head light doors...in my subjective opinion "not show ready".
On the other hand, I saw an all original 2011 GS that was detailed to the "nines". The stock car won hands down, in my opinion, which is worth 2 cents. My wife and I enjoyed being out with people who love the hobby.

Mustangs are a dime a dozen, so they have to be customized to stand out. Corvettes are a lot less common, so they don't need to be customized to stand out and be appreciated. Whatever the car owner wants to do with HIS car is fine by me.
As has been indicated, the OP has generally been negative about Corvettes and Corvette owners on a Corvette forum. Does he think he will win any fans doing this, or is he simply trolling? If he really has a Corvette and feels this way about them, maybe it's time to get rid of it and buy one of those highly coveted, modified Mustangs so he can be worshipped by the common masses in the Mustang forums.....
