Default Checking out a C6 in the Kendall FL area

Hello,

I have been toying with the idea of getting a Vette for a while. I started looking a little more seriously in the last few weeks. Today one showed up that would work for me. 2008, LS3, I like the color, removable top, 4LT, Z51, not too many miles, in my price range.

It is in the Kendall, FL area. I am looking for someone to check it out for me. It would be a bummer to fly to Miami and it not be a solid car. If it is and I can make a deal on it I would fly down and drive it back to Ohio.

If you could check it out for me or know someone who could, please let me know.

Thanks!!!

Steve

With all due respect, I just can’t understand “asks” like this. Why would you base a potential purchase on someone’s opinion, who may not in fact be qualified to give you a true assessment of the car’s condition and value.
I look at it, I think it looks great (subjective) but I don’t see what a professional set of eyes would see. I tell you it’s a solid car. In truth, the car may have issues that I didn’t see.
Now if a Forum buddy’s look is just a first step before contracting a professional, than I say that is good move!
Good luck and again, I mean know disrespect to you.

Where is the car? I will be down in Kendall this weekend. Not currently a C6 owner but had 3 in the past. PM me if anything.

And I could go with you, for a double-or-nothing opinion. We know each other via the Forum and the late Horsepower Sales. Send us PMs.

Respect your opinion but Clevite Kid and I do know our way around a C6. I have built, rebuilt, tracked, and pretty much done most of the work on mine. I have had it for 14 years. I think between us we could check out a car for a fellow forum member, this isn't the first time I have done it for one either. If nothing else it will let him know if he should come check it out for himself or not.

If someone is willing to do it, it wouldn't hurt to have someone make that first eyeball once over before making the long trip. You can still make the deal contingent on your seeing it in person but at least you don't have to make the trip if there is something very obvious that would be a deal breaker. I'm in FL but nowhere near Kendall.

I appreciate all the offers of help.

I have pinged the 'seller' 3 times, no response.

By "pinged" I guess that's email or message. No matter...you can't beat a phone call.

It doesn’t have his phone number listed on Auto trader, just the message box

It is. I am pretty impressed with the community here and look forward to participating in an 'official' capacity.

Thanks for willingness to help.

Here is an update. I received an email from Autotrader asking if the 'seller' had responded. I replied no and shortly after got an email from Autotrader as though I was the non-responsive seller. LOL

Maybe Autotrader is bundged up or maybe he sold the car and didn't update the listing.

I am continuing to look.

The '08 base model seems to be the sweet spot for me. Good engine, Corvette handling, good looking car and a price I can justify for a car to drive for my enjoyment.

Certainly no surprise here. And, I believe Corvette owners with multiple years of experience with various generations of a specific car (Corvette) will be more than qualified to make a thorough and honest appraisal.

I've been considering putting one on the market; if interested in a Vert, 6M, 32ml, one owner, Florida, PM me.

One example of technology taking a step backwards.
