Targa Top VS Rag Top Convertible

I've owned verts and targa top cars in the past. In my area spring and fall would be the only time you can enjoy either a vert or targa top, however, both of those seasons call for lots of unpredictable rain, pop-up thunderstorms. The summer here in Indiana comes with unforgiving humidity and I prefer not to either bake while driving or have my interior bake while being parked. I have also had issues with squeaks, leaks with both and experienced mechanical issues vert tops. I've opted for the fixed top Z06 and just roll the windows down for fresh air. Never mind me, to each his own, as long as you enjoy your rides that's all that matters.

Targas with the top off to me look god awful. I don't get why people get Targas when the verts just look so much better top up and you can put the top down if you want.

All Corvettes are beautiful!
Why is there some much Corvette hate going on? There is no Corvette that looks G** Awful. Well, at least not stock ones. I've seen some that the owners glued on a bunch of stupid s*** that might fit that description.

Yanno, if GM decided to offer an articulated hardtop convertible, I might seriously consider one, until then I still prefer the targa! The Vette convertible is indeed sexy with the top down! Top up, not so much!

I actually prefer hard tops (non-removable) for my sports cars & was searching for an Inferno Orange Z06 or ZR1 but just couldn’t find one in the condition & price range I wanted to pay. My wife was begging for me to get a convertible, however, I bought her a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited so she has her vert.
I definitely think the wide-body convertible looks better than the base, but I prefer the targa so I can have my hard top appearance and take it off if I want to. The turbulence doesn’t bother me because I spend a heck of a lot of time in the Jeep with the top off - can’t get windier than that.

Lots of comments...
I'm trying to search for the one that states, "...I ended up getting the _coupe - or - vert__ and I can't wait to get rid of it!!

Than my Jeep - idk big freakin box with absolutely no aerodynamic features going down the freeway at 80 mph with no top or doors is pretty freakin windy
To the OP, I would take a 427 convertible though

What is the jeep model that has the T-tops. or is that just an option with the hardtop?

I really enjoy the targa top. I can turn on the seat heaters and roll the windows up and enjoy it even on a 45 degree sunny day. I can talk to speeds up to about 50 comfortably. It looks great. It's also a real life saver if a car rolls, which can happen easier than you think if you get tires off the road.
Even though I'm a reasonably strong man, it takes a little effort to remove and reinstall while being careful not to scratch anything. I think this is why convertibles have the 'women' reputation cause a woman would be almost required to have a push button convertible.
I'd consider myself highly sensitive to buffeting noises, and have not noticed that at all in my C6. And I've done all day driving trips with the roof off at many different speeds including the 3 digit kind. My car is a NB, I also have a WC hood. I wonder if these differences account for any differences in buffeting?
The biggest issue I have, and if anyone has a suggestion I'd love to hear it, is that the roof off essentially takes up the entire storage area. I dream of a road trip with the top is off but them wouldn't know where to put the luggage. Suggestions?
To me the perfect Vette would be a motorized targa top.
Another great options would be is someone offered a fold-able canvas top for the C6. Something lightweight that could be thrown on in a pinch, and carried in the car while taking up minimal space. I think Porsche 918s back in the day had something like this. Even if it has a max speed rating just something you could protect your car from rain with and cover it up for the evening would be really helpful while not giving up hardly any storage space.
I only like my roof off when it's below 80 degrees however, and warmer than that and it's miserable unless it's nighttime.

Melting Slicks
Seems like Verts are the way to go!!! I plan on buying a coupe with the transparent top one day. The idea of having an azz wipe cut the vert roof just because they want to will really set me off!!
