Default Low mileage cars with 4 owners?!!!

I've been looking for a low mileage c6. I've come across multiple cars with less than 25k miles but with 4 owners? Wtf? Is this unusual? Talk about a "used" car!

A lot of C6's are over 10 years old now and a lot of people don't drive their C6 often. those 2 items add up to what you are seeing. be happy they all saved the car for you.

I bought my 2006 in 2009 with 11K miles on it. It had 3 owners in those years. I've had absolutely no issues with the car other than a water pump replacement at 30K miles. I now have close to 90K miles on it now.

I have a 2007 Indy Pace car with 18K miles and am the 3rd owner. The car is a garage queen and collectors item. The orignal owner traded it in on a C7 in 2014 when it had 8K on it and since it looked brand new it lived in the showroom at the GM dealer where my brother in-law saw it and bought it when he was there getting his C4 serviced. It was my brother in-laws pride and joy for 2 years until he lost his battle with cancer and he gave the car to my wife 2 days before he passed away when the car had 14K on it. They can be a real find without a tarnished history.

Perhaps I'm being too picky. I really would like a one owner car but maybe I should not exclude a multiple owners car.

Many C6's are or were garage queens, and most did not get many miles put on them by the owners, driven only in nice weather, etc.
If you can get a Carfax, that will show the change in ownership and basically how many miles each owner put on it.

I certainly didn't let it deter my decision to purchase my C6, because I did see the Carfax, and the first owner was at the dealer, maybe in management.
Another good source of info for any work done at the dealer is to get a GMVIS report, which can be had for free from any GM dealer service department.

Good Luck in your decision

Why does it matter how many owners it has had if it was well taken care of and low mileage car? They’re older cars and sometimes dealers are counted as owners as well.

It’s not unusual at all. My current 2012 Grand Sport is a 3 owner car. We got it last year with only 18K miles. Many are weekend drivers or in my case driven only when I want to drive as I’m retired. I sold my brother’s 2008 Coupe in 2009 with only 370 miles. He died 3 weeks after buying his dream car.

In my case I am the third owner, 2011 GS with 30K on it, so would you reject mine ? It had 25 K when I bought it in 14
I can assure you it is as clean and as well cared for and any you can find plus everything works, no problems whatsoever, except for the dreaded HB which has been remedied with a PowerBond 1117SS
Honestly I think you are putting too much stock in the owner thing. if you can look at it in person do it and then make your decision.
Good luck

Hey, there are still low mileage C6's for sale out there. You just have to be patient and persistent. Two months ago I found and bought a 2013 C6 with 5,663 miles on it. It is in like-new condition and was previously owned by an older woman.
AW, she probably wasn't that old considering I just turned 80. Gotta drive a Vette to keep from joining the Over-the-Hill group!!

Get a dealer to run a service history for you and if it doesn't show anything unusual, buy it.

4 owners who babied it are > 1 owner who beat the **** out of it.

4 owners sounds weird on the surface, but I don't think it's really indicative of anything negative in practice, necessarily.

Just because there are N owners, it doesn't mean there were only N drivers. My one owner truck has had so many drivers in 80K, that I think I've only driven it about half that.

A lot of times, these cars are mid life crisis purchases or purchase made later in life. Things and events change, finances, health, etc. So it is understandable that there can be multiple owners.

Have a Chevy dealer pull up the GMVIS report. If the car was/is a problem car, the warranty period would have lots of trips to the dealer.

My guess is it's just fine.

4 actual owners or swapped between dealerships? Mine showed 4 owners when I bought it (‘12 w/30k mi) but the carfax showed 2 of those being dealers. Either way the car was clean, well taken care of & had no issues. And I feel I got a really good price compared to what I could find for what I wanted.

I wondered the same thing when I was looking for a Corvette . The G.M. dealer I deal with told me , don't be alarmed at multiple owners , it is real common . When I would locate one he would run a check for me . I purchased a 2012 , 11,500 miles , and I am the fourth owner . #1 bought new , #2 mechanic at dealer bought it when traded in , #3 bought it off #2 , #3 had it 11 months and put less than 100 miles on it …. I am number #4 , had it a month and have put 500 miles on it . I believe I will be #4 for a long time . Also , think of all that depreciation that was saved . Who knows maybe when I do get rid of it , it will have appreciated in value ? When you get one you will enjoy it !

Many folks buy rental cars from outfits like Hertz or Avis. If that number of drivers doesn't affect the life of the car, 3 or 4 owners surely won't either.

Look for the service record and stop worrying about owner count.

I bought my Corvette from the original owner (private party). The auto check report I ran said one owner. I recently ran another report for the heck of it. It now shows 3 owners. The people I bought it from had moved 3 months earlier. They also sent in a renewal that hadn't been processed yet.

I'm definitely the second owner but the report shows the owners change of address as though they had sold it.
