Safety Car
The dealership I bought my Vette from had a METAL decal on the back. My son in law was looking at it, got his fingernail under it and it popped right off.
If you can afford the Vette, you can afford the oil changes. Take the decal off!!!

Drifting
A not so funny story about dealer nameplates. I ordered my new 67 C2, and my father ordered a new truck for his business at the same time in the fall of 66. We told the salesman to please leave the plate off the Corvette, but it was ok to put it on the truck. In those days the name plate was made out of pot metal/chrome with 2 pins that they had to drill holes for. Several months go by, and we go to pick up the 2 vehicles. Don't you know the idiot prep guy drilled the holes in the Vette and installed it, and left it off the truck!. The dealer had to have his body shop correct the mistake on a brand new car, but it came out all right!
Tim, really nice car!

Spent some birthday time scoping out the walking bridges and at Mission Bay in San Diego. The top was down for all driving time.

Snugged up the back window straps today. No more clicking!
What a PITA though. The body doesn't bend and twist like it used to!

I'm in!
There are always questions concerning the top. Especially maintenance and repairs on power ones. I learned a very important tip about the rear window when putting the power top down. Reach back and pull the bottom of the rear window forward so the valance doesn't hit it as it comes down. Saved me a lot of wear and tear.

Thanks. I've read that information. However, I don't want to attempt to adjust a water tight and quiet convertible top. A quick hand up and a slight pull and I'm good to go.

What you end up adjusting should have no effect on any operation of the top besides the window getting clinked over and over.
