Default My 05 C6 is dangerous to drive

Never having an issue with the car being an 05 with 35,000 miles I felt as if my car was very reliable. For the past 3 days my car has been completely shutting down both while on the highway, and at red lights. I get a “reduced engine power” and “traction control warning” along with a check engine light: no power steering, no brakes, no throttle. However, wait a minute and the car fires right back up like nothing happened, drive it for another 15mins, and it happens all over again.

I ran the code and came back with:
P0601- Control module

Guessess from me are I have a bad PCM? Or bad Ground? Or bad spark plugs/ coils?

any help and input from you guys would be great. Thanks
-Matt

Check your voltage I had the same problem as you. I ended up tracing it back to my alternator. I replaced it and everything was fine.

Wellll besides the internet, where do you normally take your Corvette?

My guess may be as good as the others: how about a gas pedal sensor, one of the two?

Have the battery load tested and check your grounds. More often than not one or the other is the source of these type of problems.

Similar issue with my 2007 "Reduced Power" indicator - on the highway
very unnerving
still had steering and brakes, gas pedal was useless / non functional
happened 3 times

Don't recall the codes but it was PCM or throttle body (new battery 2 month back)
Replaced with Rock auto throttle body

ACDELCO 2171617 (217-1617) Throttle Body $ 312.79

about 20 minutes to change
- 6 weeks, no codes, no more issues

That figures, in the old days you just put a volt meter on the TPS at the throttle body, 0 to 5 volts, and you were good. Replace with $25 part. Isn't technology grand!

On a 13 year old car you'd file a lawsuit.... That's what's wrong with society, why not just try and figure out what's wrong first . May be something that should have been repaired like 5 years ago...

Make sure I never sell you a part...
