Emergency/Trunk Door Release Doesn't Drop Window
This is on an 05'. My battery died, as it does once a year.
Prior years I would just jack it up and give it some power through the starter to get in because my trunk key latch was broken. I had that latch fixed before I put it away for this last winter though thinking it would be easier next time.
Battery died yesterday and I tried going in through the trunk using the door release pull string. The door opens a little, but doesn't drop the window at all, so it's still jammed in the weather stripping. I ended up crawling in to see if the emergency release levers would do it, and they don't drop the windows either.
Question: are they supposed to drop? I see nothing in the owners manual saying to pull the release and then shove the door really hard which feels like it could potentially break something. In an emergency situation, sure no prob. I don't want to bust something just to get my battery charged though.

They don't drop, I pull the release with my right hand and help pull the door open with my left. When closing I just push the window in a little bit so it clears.

The windows CAN'T drop because the battery is dead. Just make sure it's completely unlatched using the emergency release (either one) and pull the door the rest of the way open. The window will pop out from under the roof without damage.

Haha, well it's on a trickle charger all winter. It's after I take it out in the spring and we end up with a week of days where I keep thinking "I'll drive it tomorrow" but I end up needing the SUV instead, or the weather sucks.
