Default 2005 C6 LS2 corvette?

Hello,

I found a 2005 LS2 red C6 corvette that I might buy. It has automatic transmission. any one knows whether that C6 has the automatic transmission 4L60E or the 6L80E?

I checked in the Internet about info on the C6 corvettes but I'm not sure if what I found are correct information.

Thanks for help.

465LE?
I always get these numbers mixed up but it is a 4 spd. auto that is tried and true/reliable from the C-5 Generation of Corvettes. No problems with mine at 71,000+ miles.

Yes, it is the last year of the 4 speed automatic in a Corvette. Some believe it's more reliable then the new transmissions. I have 56,000 miles on mine with no problems at all and the car has the Z-51 package.

When we traded our ‘05 LS2 A4 Coupe in with about 29K miles it was beginning to get “stuck” in park on occasion. After a few tries it would go into gear. Tranny was trouble free. It was just the common stuck in Park issue that many seem to have. Best of luck!

From 8 years of reading transmission posts here it seems the A4 is the transmission of choice for those who mod their cars. Been written in many posts, the A4 holds up better to hole shots and hard driving than the A6. '05 rear end not so much, modders usually change out the '05 rears but the trans is bullet-proof. Good luck with your car...

If you're going to use your C6 as a touring car, which most probably do, the A4 is a great transmission. I've had mine for 13 years and it's been great.

I've had nothing but problems with my 05. When I put it in D it goes backwards. When I put it in R it goes forward. When I put it in 1, the horn starts honking. And when I put it in P the left front tire goes flat. And when I...........

Had you going there for a minute didn't I?

OK. The 2005 C6 base model has the 4L65E automatic transmission and I got this info from the Internet and I guess this info is correct.

I remember having this problem too in 2006 or 2007. Dealership replaced unit in shifter underneath car. I don't remember what that part was called.
Yes common problem.

I have never had any of the so called problems with the 3:15 optional rear end from GETRAG. But I don't track the car or abuse it as I drive it easy.
