Thanks for posting - I don't think I would have the guts to try myself but one thing for sure is that a mechanic should easily be able to disconnect the sensor wire for me until I get it fixed.

@saplumr - I was trying to quote your message but get an error:

I was trying to hit the "thanks" button but ever since they did the upgrade the website is very unstable - tried three times and got a weird screen pop up each time - so "thanks!"

My oil pressure gauge reads 80, every time I start the car.

Not going to have it fix it, been like that for months!

Huge mistake, since if your engine does drop actual oil pressure, your not going to know about it until you hear a loud snap, as one of the piston rods goes shooting through the side of the block.

Again, the sensor is not that hard to replace, and it just a mater of blind work with the sensor behind the intake manifold/ under the cowling. So mirror or camera so you can see what your doing without trying to stick your head where it will not fit, makes short work of such.
