This memory crap sucks!
Look I'm an old guy that loves Corvettes - I got this '08 last week and has the 4LT options that includes "memory" seat/mirror and lord knows what else - I tried reading the owner's manual to get a handle on how all this works - I get into it when my ADD kicks in and I get nowhere - I just want the seats to quit moving around - stop this memory crap - can it be done in some simple manner - thanks.

If you want to stop the seats, etc, from moving around when you get into and out of the car you can turn off Auto Memory Recall. That setting is in the DIC Personal Options Menu. (Option button to right of steering wheel). See DIC Vehicle Personalization in Owners Manual. I eventually decided to turn this off too.

Pump the brakes, old man (I'm probably older than you ). Once you set the seat position and "memorize" it the seat should not move around at all...unless the "exit" position has been set in the DIC.
When I bought my first C6 I sat in the seat with the owners manual (and a toddy) and read some, touched some, and got a handle on it.

Actually most things today are programed and the guides written by the “computer age”, Call them what you will, but coming from tehnical background when the computer was just an engineering, accounting tool, we are expecting instructions to be complete without the “usual steps “left out.

I was a bit frustrated with the Memory seats, as well. But only for one day. Look at Page 10 in the manual. Just set the mirrors, steering wheel telescope and seat where you want it. And then push the "1" button on the door, and hold it, until you hear the two beeps. Easy peasey.
This is only if YOUR key fob is number 1. If your wife's key fob is number 1 (hey, could happen) and yours is number 2, then press the "2" button. Numbers are on the back of the key fobs.

What will really **** you off is when you decide to use the other key fob and have to re-do everything again.
LOL
You can set up each key fob for different radio, hvac, mirror and seat settings.
Good luck!

I programmed my wife's key to say "Hi Honey"; although she didn't enjoy driving it much especially after going boosted.

Melting Slicks
My issue with the memory function is it decides what/when it remembers. No matter how many times I set it, save everything, it will still decide it's own final placement and I have to readjust everything. It'll remember for a couple cycles then completely change on me.

Just set the "exit" position the same as your driving position. Since the "exit" position and driving position will be the same, nothing will move.
