Correct. Rotate the stalk down toward you and it snaps back to auto mode, but will make the lights operate like you describe.

Just a warning in case you aren't fully familiar with how this works. If you do this at night you won't have any headlights on.

Its easy to remember to do, many people like myself have been doing it for years to turn off the "egg" orange DRL on the OEMs. Just make sure you do it once you put it on R or D. Doing it in park wont work.

I believe the only thing that needs to be kept in mind for a manual is not having the ebrake up - when the ebrake is up, the DRL's are automatically off.

Car on, ebrake up, the white L should be on but the amber lights should be off.
Car on, ebrake off, both the white L and amber lights should be on if in auto and in daylight.
If auto at night, headlights and white L should be on.

They're rated for 30,000+ hours which is more than 10x what the stock low beams are rated at so there should never be any issues there.

I'm going to have to replace my avatar. Red's headlight assemblies are no longer Victory Red as they have been for twelve years. At 4.7 standard labor hours, having the Morimotos installed by my local dealer was a bit pricey. But I don't care. The new ones are mother lovin' beautiful.

What's going on with the status of the correct harness to make these lights function as they should? I think it's total BS if we have to pay another vendor $250 to make these headlights work like they already should. We should be compensated by Vettelights for this.

I'm doing what I can on that. There is currently no competition to said vendor with the harness so the price is up there right now. I hope to have the manufacturer offer the harness since they essentially have all of the needed parts to do so. If I can make this happen, I can't imagine the price will be anywhere near $250.

Lots of sets from the incoming shipment are already sold! Just waiting on them to arrive from manufacturer then kicking them right back out the door to you all!

Yeah, that guy (said vendor) is high if he thinks I’m going to pay 250 bucks for that harness. Seems like he is just gouging people that didn’t buy the headlights from him.

I don't know about vettelights having to compensate for any of this really. The company Coplus made this lights. Obviously there's a way around it so Coplus didn't have the right people looking into this while producing this. They got the asethics down which was the goal I can only assume. Personally I rather have brighter headlights.

I'm with you on the brighter headlights. What sold me personally was the extra output. The aesthetics are a nice upgrade too but I'm all about throwing more light out in front of me.

I don't know if he's necessarily gouging people. People are asking for him to build the harness, actually begging him. At this point, the harness is more of a convenience than anything. The lights work 'as advertised' as long as you flick the switch on the stalk. That's all people are complaining about. If you want the luxury of not having to hit one switch then I think it should cost you, and right now the cost is $250. Isn't capitalism great!!!
