Where do you get your tires installed?
My '11 GS has 13k on the original tires that I'm considering replacing due to age. Where do you take your car to get new tires? Can Discount Tire and Costco properly lift these cars and mount/balance the wide rims without damaging them? I've never seen any Corvettes or high-performance sports cars at Costco or Discount Tire.

Discount Tire did my 02, but I brought them the wheels in my truck. Tire Rack did my 06, I live close enough to South Bend.

I would call a local car club and ask. I would never take my car to a chain store unless I knew them personally to take care of my rims.
I asked when I moved here to NC from FL 16 years ago and was made aware of a local tire store that did almost everyone's show cars. They invite you to watch the entire process too. Never a nick on any of my rims over all these years. The employees rarely change which is almost unheard of for that type of work. They know your name when you pull in. Speaks volumes.

I buy my tires from Discount Tire Direct (mail order), but I take my GS to Firestone to have them mounted and balanced ... Never had a problem with them scratching the wheels

Just had two rear Michelin run flats installed this morning by my usual shop. Ask the shop owner if he has the equipment to mount run flats properly........they're not as easy as regular tires

Got mine from Discount, also asked if the tire tech was experienced enough to change out a 12 " rim and tire to which I was told yes affirmative. Also had the "road force balance" done which is a must on these cars IMHO

I just had new wheels and tires put on my GS a few months ago. Look for a tire shop that specializes in aftermarket wheels and puts them on high end cars. They have better equipment and won’t damage your wheels!

There's a place in OKC called Custom Wheel, I did them there last time. But I have had Discount Tire do it before with no problems.

Bought my Michelin runflats last week at Costco. They were worried they might crack my real carbon fiber side skirts with their lift. Luckily there is an America’s Tires in the same parking lot that used a floor jack and stands instead.

In the St Louis area there are many tire stores. I went to ALL of them and none of them could mount tires on my GS. I even went to one of those places that sell custom wheels and who sell 24" wheels. They said they couldn't mount 30 series wheels. Not even Goodyear could do it. The only place for me was the dealer. And they even told me that no one else in the area can do it. They cut me a break and charged me $250 to mount and balance. The regular price was a little over $300.

I found a guy at a shop far from me---my local shops are "BIM-bobs" (as compared to "bim-bo's). I think there might be a couple places I trust nearer to home, but why chance it? I've also found one of my 3 costcos that will let me buy the tires (on order), and have them shipped to my trusted person to have them mounted. Thereafter, I might let Costco look at them if I need them to do so, but usually I only take an suv to them (with the same arrangement for tire buying and mounting elsewhere).

Bought tires from Discount Tire Direct. Had them installed by a local shop that I was familiar with the installers/work.
I bought tires at Costco for my truck and they scratched my wheels. Costco did cover the cost of repairs... but beware of the installers.
