I've made it. I'm in.
I've been lurking here for several months now. Back in February I sold my pride and joy, a 2012 Mustang (Car Overview and Detailed History of Car).
I have a little two seater I use to beat on, a 2005 Honda Insight (MT), and had a Cayenne (MT) up until a few days ago. I was having trouble selling the Cayenne for what I wanted, and all the cars I found in my price range where absolutely beat to junk. Just treated like garbage. I've spent over 50 hours driving around Ohio (home) and Michigan looking for the right Corvette since May.
But just a few days ago, a six hour drive, I found my perfect Corvette.
She is missing the HUD and heated seats, but those will be added in due time. She is absolutely pristine inside and out. I thought she just had the base exhaust, as it was whisper quiet (coming from a Roushified Mustang and a G1 Insight). Reading some of the hidden paperwork, I found it has the NPP! We found it didn't open the valves under any circumstance, other than off. Starting up, 5k RPMs, didn't matter- whisper quiet, closed valves.
When I realized I had the NPP, and a witness, we pulled the fuse. SO much better. I have yet to listen to the car from anywhere but the drivers seat, but it is still so quiet. Top off, windows down, it is alright, but it does not do justice to what this car is capable. I'm not reckless on the roads, but the get up and go, and the handling. . . . Worlds apart from any muscle or sport-y car.
It has been a long journey finding the right model (runner up was 911), the exact specifications (2010+, Arctic, HUD & Heated Seats). But not only is the car right, this community has been very reassuring. They say the true way to judge someone is by how they act when no one is looking. Of all the forums I have seen, this is one of the best for lack of silliness.
So here I am, and am proud to join the group!

Very nice! Enjoy it. Limiting your 'watch' area to just states was tough but you succeeded. Good going! For me, it had to be a nationwide search or else I still would be looking after nearly a year. Mine was in Massachusetts, not exactly around the corner from NC. Depends what you want without settling. I have learned that 'settling' rarely works out in the long run.
