bose door subs failed
has anyone replaced these terrible designed speakers? I had to pull both of mine out only to find water must collect in the rear frame and center baffle. it causes the frame to rust and the adhesive to fail and then the buzzing begins. I was able to clean the area up and repaired with shoe goo a waterproof flexible adhesive. the back frame has 3 holes in it that looks like they had provision for a cover but none was ever installed. if this doesn't work I will look for some 10 in dual voice coil 2 ohm speakers so I can wire in parallel to give the one ohm necessary for the weak bose amp. I installed a kenwood dnx893s in 2016 and probably should have kept going. This is in a 2013 GS with 13k miles and has seen rain less than a dozen times and always garaged. If anyone has any suggestions on replacing or waterproofing let me know what and how you did it. Thanks

I have seen this come up a few times, and it always seems to be a 2012/13. Exactly the way you described with water getting in the door causing rust to the speaker frame and separation of the speaker.

Also, check the C6 parts for sale section. I see used ones on there quite often. Sold mine to a fellow forum member when I did my system.
