I think of the protection factor too when taking my cars into parking lots. I usually won't park 'way out there' but if I see a nice ride I know they won't swing the doors open wildly so I park next to them. I hope they feel the same way.
Just a side note for laughs. I live in a rather small town and our cars stand out to fellow car club, car show attendees,etc..and we all seem to know each other's cars. I parked way out in a Lowe's parking lot one day to avoid others with lumber or whatever. When I came outside I found an older Mustang parked real tight to my driver's door. I could barely get in. Of course I recognized the ride. Wise guy!!! We had a good laugh later.

You parked wrong, you should have the passenger side tires on or over that outside line. Seriously, I agree with the protection theories as I do the same with my DD.

I apologize that my tongue-in-cheek tone did not come through better. Will edit to clarify.

Have you considered that maybe he's also a vette owner and just created a buffer for you? I sometimes do the same thing when I'm in my Jeep and see a nice vette in a lot. I keep my distance from them but I feel it's my duty to keep the riff raff away. Vettes for life!

Several have said they think he parked in order to protect your Vette. Notice how far away yet still in the next spot. I would agree with that assessment, and say that the truck owner may be a "Sheep Dog" sort of person. Firefighters, Military Active Duty or Veterans and Law Enforcement. We simply have the innate desire and need to stand between the innocent and the wolves of the world. Sometimes also known as the Three Percent. We voluntarily enlist in dangerous, protective work, and run toward the sound of gunfire. I would imagine that many are also Corvette owners.

I've been in situations where I thought it odd that they seemed to go out of their way to park adjacent to me. I always snap a quick photo, just in case.....

Some people just don’t care about anything but themselves. At work we have an annual car show. Some people will just open doors and hop in (even encouraging their kids to do it too).

I think the person did that just to irritate you a bit. Kinda like when you're running down the interstate and some clown has to tailgate you because they are usually jealous you are in a vette and they are not so they want to bother you. Or they think you think you are some kind of "hot shot in a badass car" and they want to bother you.

This is to be expected. When you park way out in the middle of nowhere like that, you give the impression that you refuse to mingle with "those people."
Also, why are there blood stains all over the lot? What kind of golf club are they running there??
