My opinion is if you want a specific car, wait for that car to be available and buy it. Don't pussyfoot around with wanting some sort of special deal, just buy the car you want and don't sweat the details, you will be happier in the long run.

I think he found a lot of manual ones, had a problem finding an auto most of all. That's a good find!

Interestingly, the seller of the one he bought didn't know it was a rare color.

I don’t want a convertible. Looking for a coupe or GS. Automatic. No problems with price.

Nothing looks like paint except paint. Thats a nice color, can the wallet afford to buy one and have it painted?
Wrap is tacky...kinda like plastidip. no way to hide it unless you dont mind.

Going to post a WTB post as well. Maybe I can find one that isn’t 850 miles away... haha. I’m going to keep looking, fingers crossed! 🤞🏼

Yup, that’s the “only one” I was talking about. Saw another fsbo in Rhode island, and one in Hawaii... Trying to find one closer than 850 miles... I went and looked at one 6 months ago that I drove 5 hours to look at and the lines on the back bumper didn’t match up cuz it had been whacked. Couldn’t tell in the pictures, they hid it pretty well. So I’m trying to avoid long distance car purchase for that reason. My main post was just trying to figure out if anyone knew of any additional websites that I might be able to find a Carlisle Blue Vette that’s a bit closer to me, or if I couldn’t find that color specifically, there are loads of vettes in my area just not in that color. So if I went with a solid buy that was close to me, could I just change the paint color or would it look ridiculous? I got a lot of answers on here so thank you to everyone that helped out.

The Carlisle Corvette meet is coming up in August, in PA. That's where you will find the highest number of Carlisle Blue Corvettes. I'm sure there will be people selling theirs. If you own one, you get in for free.

OP- do not settle. Don't go with the wrap.

If you want a Carlisle Blue Corvette, get one. It took me a year to find the EXACT Inferno Orange Corvette I wanted. I flew to pick it up- and drove it home 800 miles. Absolutely worth the wait to get exactly what I wanted.

Looks like the Texas Auto one hits all your check boxes. If you can reach agreement/terms with Texas Auto, go for the road trip. You won't regret it. Also- if you're deciding between a base coupe and Grand Sport, do yourself a favor and get the Grand Sport if it's in your budget. You'll regret it if you don't.

Worth the wait.

Furthermore, here's a write-up about finding mine. I genuinely hope I see something from you in the future about finding your Carlisle Blue Corvette!

The only problem... of course when you’re ready to buy they all disappear. There is only ONE carlisle blue corvette in all of the United States currently for sale. (I’ve searched Auto trader, Car Gurus, CarMax, iSeeCars, Cars.com, TrueCar). So I’m (I know, I know) actually considering (I can feel the shame coming) getting a corvette in whatever color and wrapping it baby blue...Since it might be hard to match the exact color for a wrap, if at all even possible. My issue is that it will look tacky and not authentic at all. Not to mention (the shame) I’ll be an imposter! So here are my questions:

1) Is there another place to look for corvettes that I might be overlooking?
2) Is a wrap going to look ridiculous, and fake?

Thanks for all your help! I’m also a bit new here so be kind please! 🙂
Might want to check autotrader today! There are several Carlisle Blue cars listed.

Just wait for the right car and buy it instead of trying to replicate it.

It never fails. As soon as you settle, your dream car will pop up for sale
