Everything wrong with my new to me vette.
HI guys, I just got an 05 manual vette, and it has a good many issues. I figured maybe you guys could help me out with them?
Service tire monitor. Check washer fluid. All tire pressure blank on front and rear, tire pressure light on, check engine light on ( code for fuel level sender) maybe more will get checked, when driving with traction control on it will pop up traction active and go into limp mode (maybe due to the tire monit?), a coolant line leaking ( ordered all new mishimoto lines) the line coming off the bottom of the power steering reservoir is swollen and sweating ( I honestly have no idea how that happens) the connector to the ac compressor is broken, and I think that's it.
any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Who did you buy it from? Off the internet? Did you test drive it? Did you inspect it? Hard to believe someone would buy a car in this condition and not know at least some of the issues were already there.

I did know of almost all of these issues, I bought it because it was a pretty good deal and I feel like most of these issues are pretty simple fixes. The only one that's got me super stumped is the power steering line swelling. I'm not sure how pressure is building up unless maybe it's a return line to the reservoir.
unless since the reservoir was over filled that's putting pressure on the line and causing it to swell?

Will do, I'm gonna wait to replace most of it all at once. Figured I'd knock out the compressor, coolant lines, and power steering stuff all at once. Thanks for the advice!
that raises another question though when looking at power steering lines they offer sport front suspension and non sport, I'm assuming being a base corvette I have non sport?

The batteries in your tire pressure monitors are most likely dead. If you can live with the tire pressure light and manually check your pressures, you can wait until you need tires and replace the sensors then. The tires have to be unmounted to change the sensors.

Here's some info for your car:
https://www.corvetteactioncenter.com...005/index.html
Most questions are answered above. These cars have a lot of electronics and, therefore, need a good battery. Have yours load tested but if it is much more than 3 years old (in a hot humid climate) it is wise to replace it.
Check washer fluid level? Has the coolant ever been changed and is it the right stuff in there. The sensor could just be gummed up.
Fuel level sender? Run a couple cans of Techron thru the car. Maybe the previous owner bought cheap gas and worked off the bottom of the tank.
Power steering? I agree with changing the lines.
Take your VIN number to the service department of any GM dealer and ask them to print (for free!) the VIS and build sheet.
The VIS will show any repairs done at a GM dealer and the build sheet will show when the car was built and with what options.
Most importantly, report back on your progress. That's how we all learn.

Burning Brakes
Not completely unmounted, just have to break the seal on the outside bead.

Above member's absolutely correct, C6 is so damned power sensitive it isn't funny.
Battery 'load tested', first.
Now age, should be in battery so check because >3 yrs C6 batteries in H or H climates seem to degrade faster than many owners believe.
New battery may very well clear half the codes thrown so make sure batterie's solid before chasing down rabbit holes.
TPMS can indeed be replaced w/o dismounting tire, tho' tire stores may not realize/know it.
Providing mileage c/would've provided a clue how & often it was driven, or not.
Honestly didn't see anything outside normal wear-tear w/ the usual maintenance items above brakes & tires., anyway.
If it were harmonic balancer, then there'd be an issue.
Car's a MY '05, 13 y/o first year Corvette, be glad it's not a 13 y/o Porsche or there'd really be something to bellyache about.
There's bound to be a few kinks last owner c/wouldn't address. Plain old cheap would be my guess, and now this stuff's piled-up.
Making those corrections will likely end-up w/ a fabulous million $ cruiser on poor man's budget.
MY '05 is a nice ride especially w/ MN6, LS2's plenty peppy too.

Wow, I am really not used to response's and response times like this. I am loving this community. Thanks for everyone standing up for me lol. I did know about the problems after I test drove the car. The coolant leak was extremely minor, I don't really care to much for the tire pressure ( I'd just like to get it fixed so there won't be lights on the dash) I think the previous owner had just replaced the battery but I'd like to put a yellow top in it anyways. My biggest concerns are definitely the limp mode (only when traction control is on [ it's fun and easy to drive with it off so I can live with that a while]) the coolant leak, and as stated I have the new lines on the way, but out of all this my biggest concern is the ac lol. It's hot in Georgia!
but anyways it's an 05 that has received a lot of love weighting in at a massive 166k miles, and a few problems, new rear tires, full exhaust, (supposedly a new luk clutch and ls3 crank pulley) drilled and slotted rotors, dingy interior, paint chips and scratches, but oh well. I plan to have all the fun I can in this car... that's all I got it for is a toy. So it's gonna get scratched up and what not. And boy can I tell you coming from the world of only owning civics, and nissans, and my current little 76 celica... this thing is fun!

Yep..pretty much anything you ask, you'll get the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly responding. Comes with this community.
Want to offer a possibility on the PS lines. These are removed/replaced when a harmonic balancer is replaced. There is a better than average chance with your mileage and MY, it has been replaced. There are lots of "back yarder" mechanics who have replaced these HBs and don't know how to replace the lines and tighten correctly. If they were over tightened (LIKELY) they will leak evermore and you'll need new lines.

Lighten up Francis! His original thread listed ALL these issues but did not state if the car was in a wreck, was involved in a flood, etc. Such a vague history of the car makes it a little harder to troubleshoot. You might have noticed his response to my thread addressed these questions giving us an idea of the cars history. Talk about a helpful post, you really were a big help!
