If the key works in the glove box slot, then it's the fob battery that's bad. Unusual to be both fobs at the same time. You didn't say what battery you changed. Fob battery or car battery?

Sorry. So I drove to work and everything worked. When was leaving the car wouldn't unlock. I thought maybe the battery in the key fob is bad so I picked up the energizer battery for the key fob for the food lion next door. I came back and nothing. I had my family come bring me my second key fob from home and they didn't get recognized either. I finally was able to start the car after unlocking the trunk, then pulling the cable to open the door and putting the key in the slot in the glove box.

Also, when I lowered the windows and try to open the door with the handle, I can hear like 3-4 clicks from near the center ac vents. I think thats where the RCDLR is according to some other forum posts.

DON'T REPROGRAM THE FOBS!!!
There's a possibility that at your work site, there was a strong exterior electronic signal that interfered in the fob-car communication and kept your fobs from working.

Check the voltage of the new batteries, since they may be old and dead from from sitting around too long. Voltage on a new battery should be in the 3.2 range.
Also, what did you plug in to one of the cig lighter sockets, add to the car, or did you add LED lights, since such can cause enough RF noise to block the signal of the fobs short of using them in the slot. Hell, if you have fluorescent lights near the car, a failing ballistic in it can put out enough RF noise to cause the same as well.

I would say you are crazy, but you aren't. I have 05, and have the same problem every once in while, the doors won't open even if I hit unlock, but I can pop the truck, once it opens the doors work fine, like nothing ever happened.

For a while I was having the issue that if i had my phone and key in the same pocket they would cause it to not recognize but that is no longer the case. I have not done any work to the car. I did have a fm radio transmitter that i was using to listen to music with though. but its been 2 days and nothing have changed.

I had that issue, after a little Sherlock Holmsing I realized I had put a different 12v-USB adapter in the center console outlet (to have 2 USB slots). Switched back to the old one and FOB problem disappeared. The system is apparently very sensitive to RF interference.

My FOB Batteries were not making good contact on the curved side, not the flat side.
I shimmed them with thin strips of adhesive felt and the problem went away

I've had intermittent problems with my car and after replacing a battery, alternator and key fob batteries I think it has to do with the car seeing the fob as you get into the car… If I have the fob in my pocket with other keys I sometimes get the "No Fob Detected" message…? So I try to always have them out of my pocket and check to see if the green light around the starter button is on before trying to start the car… I have recently just started putting the fob in the cup holder because I've read that that's where the fob sensor is located…
