Nope, not retired, though I would like to be. These 'Vettes really are a good way to escape the nonsense of life.

What trim - 3LT ? Are you gonna cam it, supercharge it, or keep it stock? Please tell us you are gonna swap out the GY run flats.

Looks very nice ! Thanks for sharing.

Yep, still working on it, though not as often as I'd like. Life stuff ya know.

Here are a few things to keep in mind, though there are many others.

1. Take pictures and/or make notes as you take things apart. I don't trust me or my memory.
2. Take your time and be patient. The final result will usually show your patience, or lack of.
3. Ask questions as you go. There are lots of tips and trick that other modelers will share with you if you ask.

Definitely 3LT. I don't wanna have the leather dash crack later. It'll be stock on the engine side of things. I've already swapped the GY's with Hankooks. Just waiting on the body man to get done so I can install them on the chassis.

Thanks for the compliments!

Subscribed. I wouldn't have the patience to complete one of these little models.

Here are a couple shots of the wet sanding process of the clear coat. The first pic shows a dull surface with little shiny spots. The dullness is where the high spots were sanded down. The shiny spots lets you know there is a bit more sanding to do. The second photos shows that the shiny spots are gone, which means we have a nice level surface for our final polish. I don't get concerned with the areas in cracks and crevices. The overall shine will take away from those so they won't stand out. In addition, this isn't a model I'm entering into a competition with, so the 20" rule applies here (a 1:12 scale 20' rule).

Something else to note. When sanding, I like to work in two directions. Sand left to right, then sand perpendicular to that. It helps level the surface that way and prevents sanding 'ditches' in the finish, which turns into rolling high and low spots in your finish.

Looks good, you did a great job of matching the orange peel just like the factory!

I'm working on the replacement front and rear C6 flag emblems as well as a scale license plate to match. If anyone would like decals for their 1:12 scale model let me know. I have plenty of room on the decal paper for multiples so you will get at least four emblems and two plates. The cost to you for the decals is free, but donations are gladly accepted. The decals will be ready for you to cut out and install. If you have some other scale model, I'll need to know the scale, otherwise, 1:12 is what you will get. Should you choose to accept my offer, I'll need to know the scale, state you live in, and your plate number. I don't have access to all state tags, so I may need you to send me a hires photo of your plate, which you can take using your smartphone, if you want an exact match.

This offer expires at midnight on 11/8/2018.

Here is a screenshot of the decals. The license plate is a photo that I cleaned up and scaled down.

Interested as well - not finding much with google. But I'm looking for something higher end on the RC side and as large as 1/10 scale. Doesn't have to be a GS but want to find one with a C6 body. I want to actually use it as a RC car, not looking to just make a mini show version of my own car.

I bought a 1:18 die cast C6. Taking it apart and painting it to recreate my Centennial Edition.
