Default Harmonic balancer

I am sure this has been discussed before, and I am sure I am gonna hear about it, but either I suck at doing searches, or the forum doesn't do a good job at categorizing searches. With all that being said, my 06 harmonic balancer is starting to wobble at 54,000 miles. I have watched a few of the YouTube clips on how to replace, and I think I am going to go that route. It doesn't look like it's too bad of a job, just time consuming. Just looking for some helpful tips and suggestions that you folks may have to help make this job a little easier. I've got, with the promise of beer and pizza, the help of 2 friends, one of which has a lift in his garage. I ordered a Summit Racing balancer, with an Earl's Performance balancer bolt. I do not have any interest in having to replace it again after 50k miles so I didn't go stock, and since mine is just a daily driver, I really had no need for a $400 ATI. Wanted to use an ARP bolt, but nobody, and I mean nobody, has one in stock. Need to get this done before I make a 1000 mile round trip in her, so I can't wait till ARP gets off their *** and makes some more. Thanks in advance for your help.

Yeah, you suck at searching, but at least you tried, so you're way ahead!

Here's a good write up: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-write-up.html

Edit: And maybe this one: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...procedure.html

Thanks a bunch! I typed in "harmonic balancer" in the search bar and didn't find what you provided.

Old timers learned long ago CF's search function's, somewhat iffy.
Instead, we use any Internet search engine which half the time links lead back to CF.
Quicker, more accurate, less frustration + lots more sources.

From my years here consensus is HB replacement is a PITA ranking right up there on the PITA meter w/ replacing fuel pumps.
Gotta hand it to you for tackling this job.

Google Search can be directed to use a specific web site.

Thanks JH, not really surprising SEs can finally be 'tuned' especially Google. About time.
Now, if only I used Google (anything).

You didn't miss much by not searching. Just a bunch of blah blah... stock balancer sucks.... blah blah ..... use this awesome powerbond balancer instead of wasting money on ATI, etc. ....

A lot of forums have strange issues with their search boxes. I'm also into Allis-Chalmers tractors, and the tractor forum I belong to wont let you search for words under 3 letters long. This make finding specific results using tractor models such as "B", "C", or "WD" impossible.

There is a great way around it if you're a Google user.... And maybe other search engines?

In the Google search box type the thing you're looking for, such as... "C6 harmonic balancer replacement". Follow that with a single space, then add "site:corvetteforum.com (or what ever web site you want to search)

Google will return results only from the corvette forum...
