C6 base, M6, 160K miles. Great car, still looks new in and out...totally in love with her.

So...when I park and listen to my sound system...every 10 minutes or so the car admirably shuts itself off; and this has worked for 10 years. Well the other day, my friend finds me at a party an hour after I parked, and informs me my rear lights and headlights are on. "Impossible, I say, my car shuts itself off in 10 minutes." So, thankfully I go out to see what's happening. Well the lights are on and my stereo is playing!!! Yikes!

I noticed that the headlights' stalk switch was set to manual. Would that keep the entire system from turning off? <-- Good to know, and very lucky I wasn't on a hike in the mountains all day.

PS: The Vette started right up when I left hours later.

Did you leave it in acc mode? That's the only way the stereo could be on.

Even if in ACC mode, the car will still shut itself off in 10 minutes. Thanks for the suggestion.
