I guess you have not been informed on the LT1's tight ring end gap that is causing piston failure on boosted applications? No thanks, I'll keep my boosted LS3.

Keep in mind that if you go convertible most HPDE organizations won't let you run without roll over protection.

Hope the deal works out. The general rule of thumb when buying cars like this (I came from the Porsche side of things and applied equally) is buy the newest one you can fit in your budget. There are improvements made every year. While I went with a Z06, I'm sure there is nothing wrong with either LS2 or 3, but of course improvements with the newer ones - nothing wrong with the earlier models, just a different price point. Based on my budget I was looking at 08-09's .

The improvement to the paddle shifters was massive between my 07 and my friends 13. The steering feel is dramatic too. I prefer the steering feel on the 13 though my wife on the other hand prefers the 07 steering, says it feels more like her Camry.

Power wise though I can't tell the difference which is why I want to see if the guy doing the engine swap can tell. Though due to the upgraded intake, headers, and exhaust on my 07 it's possible I have more power than the ls3.

Then again.......... with all the harmonic balancer problems in the C6, have you considered an Edsel engine? I hear there's several of them floating around.
