just got my black GS CE!
looked and looked and finally found the one i wanted. its amazing to drive! i figured it would be a daily driver for me but after driving it I just want to use it sparingly lol. I've attached some pics of the car.
my shifter caps are breaking apart and i have to click really hard to move it into gear - do I just need new caps or a whole new shifter? pics attached
my front splitter has a few screws that are off and I need to get that fixed. also noted some slight "seepage" around the power steering hose - is this a potential big issue? i did have a pre purchase inspection and the mechanic said it is likely not a big issue but could be down the road much later.
i plan on taking it to a corvette specialist to get some work done to get it back up to par (shifter, splitter, maintenance, etc)
any other first time purchases you guys recommend? or anything else to keep this thing well maintained?
its a 2012 GS centennial edition, 40k miles

Oh! It looks like it really is just too much trouble for you so just give it to me...LOL!
The usual stuff with buying a used vehicle, if you do not know for sure, change out the fluids, check the brake pads, etc. Also, hit the seals around the doors, hatch and such with a dose of silicone grease and wipe off excess to give them some moisture. Helps keep them from decaying into dust, or so I understand. If you have the removable roof, those seals especially need the lubrication to keep undue noises at bay.
Make sure you get it cleaned up and waxed good. Looks like you are going to be having lots of fun!

Welcome to the Centennial club! The color is Carbon Flash Metallic, not black, although it can look black in the shade.

oil change was within the past 4-5k miles and oil life % on dash still says a good amount - still need to change? what other fluids do you recommend changing?

Congrats on your CE GS. Looks good. Take care of your minor repairs and enjoy driving that thing. Keep an eye on tire wear, stock alignment tends to show wear on that inner edge of the tire. Have fun.

sweet! that sounds clean. mine is completely stock and i love the way it sounds although i would like a little more of a rumble. but i don't want the loud rumble that you could hear down the street OR so loud that you can't hear yourself while driving. is it possible to get an exhaust that will allow for a little more rumble?

Nice car!
I pulled the dual mode exhaust fuse on mine so it stays open all the time. Its louder but not bad. It does drone a bit though.

I would suggest flushing the brake fluid, coolant, plus change the oil in differential, transmission, and engine. Currently you could have original fluids that are 6-7 years old and may have contaminates in them. I like to know what I have and if I just bought an unknown, I will take steps to change the unknown to known. Besides, if you do these tasks yourself, you get to have a much better understanding of your vehicle.
